Xixiang Luo may not be the most famous poker player to come out of China, but by bagging his second bracelet of the 2024 World Series of Poker he has certainly staked a claim for that future title.
Event #96: $25,000 High Roller H.O.R.S.E.
Luo was one of ten players who returned for the final day’s play, the field of 120 having built a prizepool of $2,820,000 with $725,796 up top.
Among the contenders, crushers of the mixed game such as Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Adam Friedman and Scott Seiver, the latter staking his claim by ousting Matt Glantz in 10th spot.
It wasn’t to be bracelet number eight for Seiver, though, as he joined Friedman and Benyamine on the rail courtesy of Ryan Miller and a bad runout in Stud Hi-Lo.
6th in the Horse. Feeling very bitter right now but it will pass shortly. Blessed to have had the summer I had and to have had the joy of coming out here and competing every day. This reminds me of how much I still love the game and how beautiful I find it and the people who play

Ivey Still Stuck on 11
Phil Ivey was still in with a chance of bracelet number 12, but he too came up short, Michael Moncek ending his dreams in Seven Card Stud after Ivey called his all-in…
Phil Ivey: 6♠ 5♥ / 4♥ Q♥ 10♥ K♠ / 5♣
Michael Moncek: A♠ Q♦ / J♠ 7♥ 8♥ 8♠ / 4♦
Moncek’s eights were good enough and Ivey had to settle for 4th spot and $239,850.
Luo was by now the short stack but he quickly chipped up and eventually dealt the double blow that would bring him the title, seeing off Moncek with a brutal seventh street.
Daher did his best to stave off the Chinese pro’s attack, surviving five all-ins over two hours of heads-up play. Something had to give though and he eventually found himself once again all-in and at risk in Limit Hold’em, his opponent well ahead…
Albert Daher: Q♦ 2♦
Xixiang Luo: K♣ 7♦
Flop: 8♠ 6♠ 5♣
Turn: 10♠
River: 3♥

At first, it wasn’t as exciting as the first bracelet, but after I have had some time to celebrate I feel just as good as the first.”
