Event #11: $10,000 Super MILLION$ Final Table Recap
The Super Millions are the biggest weekly guarantee at GGNetwork. Its special WSOP Online edition attracted a whopping 624 players producing a massive $6,052,800 with $977,842 up top.
It was no surprise that we saw a tough final table including tournament legends Thomas “WushuTM” Mühlöcker, Francisco “Tomatee” Benitez, Claas “ssicK_OnE” Segebrecht, Rui ““RuiNF” Ferreira, Isaac Baron and Erik Seidel.
It didn’t take long until the first player in form of Portuguese poker legend Rui ““RuiNF” Ferreira hit the rails.
Erik Seidel hit a jump start and managed to manoeuvre himself from seventh place all the way to the chip lead.
Erik Seidel and online poker legend Francisco “Tomatee” Benitez take over
The chip lead went back and forth though between Erik Seidel and online poker legend Francisco “Tomatee” Benitez.
Isaac Baron busted in eight and former German high stakes crusher Claas “ssicK_OnE” Segebrecht was sent to the rail in seventh.
Francisco Benitez better known as “Tomatee” online then started to take control and increasing his chip lead, while the short stacks Joachim Haraldstad and Chin-Wei Chien fell in sixth and fifth place.
Four-handed Shyngis Satubayev was hit by a big cooler when he ran his Tens into the Pocket Queens of “Tomatee”, who now was massive chip leader.
And Benitez was in no mood to stop as he eliminated a very tough opponent with Thomas Muehloecker.
“Tomatee” enters Heads-Up play with a more than 4 to 1 chip lead!
This elimination gave Francisco Benitez a massive chip lead of more than 4 to 1 and his first WSOP Bracelet seemed so close.
But as soon as heads-up play started, Erik Seidel took control and started an impressive comeback.
Erik Seidel starts a big comeback
First Seidel got a bit lucky, when he doubled in a cooler situation with Pocket Queens against Pocket Jacks of Benitez, but Francisco still had the chip lead.
That changed soon after though, as Erik Seidel was crushing, while “Tomatee” seemed to be a bit shocked, when Seidel turned a more than 4 to 1 chip deficit into a 2 to 1 lead within the matter of only a few hands.
The final hand proved that it was simply Erik Seidel’s day, when he got 37 big blinds in preflop with A♥8♥ and got snap called by Francisco Benitez with A♣K♦:
The Flush on the river gives Erik Seidel his 9th WSOP Bracelet together with a staggering $977,842 and finally puts him into the list of the greatest poker players of all time!
