Smiljkovic already entered the final table as massive chip leader and never looked back; although he had strong competition with the two online crushers George Wolff (5./$115,712) and Marius Gierse (4./$160,040).
The prestigious Championship Event was a big success with 479 entries generating a staggering $2,275,250 prize pool.
Heads-Up Daniel Smiljkovic defeated Xuming “scplayer” Qi to win not only his first, but also the first bracelet overall for Germany at this year’s WSOP Online.
And he did it in in a very impressive manner and record time, since the final day only lasted one hour and 40 minutes!
Daniel Smiljkovic was rewarded with a $423,426 first prize, while Xuming Qi still took home a whopping $306,145 for his Runner-Up finish.
Eduardo Pires from Brazil wins the MILLIONAIRE MAKER for a staggering $1,384,013
The $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER was the first big highlight event of the WSOP Online 2021 and it lived up to the high expectations.
The tournament attracted a massive field of 5,437 entries smashing the $5,000,000 guarantee by over 50%! In the end there were $7,747,725 in the prize pool and an incredible $1,384,013 up top.
Top-ranked Lithuanian online poker player Tomas “dartazzzz” Jozonis was by far the biggest name on the final table, but he busted already in eighth place for $127,521.
The second biggest name Lachezar Plamenov Petkov followed him to the rails directly after and so it was already certain that we would get a surprise winner.
After Brazilian Tauan Naves busted in 3rd place, the heads-up duel between Austrian Lukas Hafner and Eduardo Pires was set up and it started with almost even stacks.
That changed drastically when the latter picked off a big bluff giving him a large 2.5 to 1 chip lead.
Pires then went on to finish Hafner off soon after, when he turned a straight against the Austrian’s top pair. Hafner’s defeat and second place was sweetened up with a whopping $984,469.
Eduardo Pires is the WSOP Online 2021 MILLIONAIRE MAKER Champion and took home an incredible $1,384,013, which is also by far the biggest score in the poker career of the Brazilian.
