We’re now two weeks into the WSOP 2024 and the action is at maximum intensity. The elite players are now out in force with plenty of legends returning to the series.
The big buy-in events are always stacked with top-tier talent and the $25K High Roller and $10K Limit 2-7 are no different this year.
Even with a minimum of six events running concurrently, there was only a single bracelet winner yesterday. Daniel Vampan showcased his skills to the max in Event #25: $3,000 6-Handed Limit Hold’em to bag a $148,635 prize.
Gladiators Field Down to Final 14
Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold’em has whittled a field of 20,647 entries down to only 14 challengers.
American Simon Britton is the man they are all chasing to deny him the much sought after bracelet and $401,210 top prize.
That said, Britton only has 27 big blinds left with the player in tenth place having 13. It’s close and the final session will definitely see some fireworks.
Daniel Vampan Win First Bracelet and Live Tournament
Daniel Vampan has won Event #25: $3,000 6-Handed Limit Hold’em to bag his first WSOP bracelet and live tournament at the same time.
The American has been racking up live tournament scores since 2011 but never made it over the line into the winner’s circle.
Vampan picked up a prize of $148,635 out of the prize pool of $662,160 generated by 248 entries.

Yingui Li Leads the 19-Player Field in $25K High Roller
China’s Yingui Li is the man to catch in Event #26: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold’em (8-Handed) with only 19 players left in the tournament.
As expected, this event attracted a mega-tough field and the top 10 chip counts are full of star names.
Shaun Deeb sits in fourth place with 44 big blinds, and he has Nick Schulman breathing down his neck with 35 and Jared Bleznick with 30.
We expect a tight finish to this one.
Japanese Tomoki Matsuda Bags Biggest Stack in $1,500 Big O
Tomoki Matsuda found himself with a narrow lead in Event #27: $1,500 Big O at the end of yesterday’s play.
We don’t see that many players from the Land of the Rising Sun at the WSOP, so hopefully this is a sign that poker’s tentacles are still stretching into new areas, increasing the game’s popularity.
Sammy Farha is the star name left in the field. He is tenth in the chip counts and the rail will no doubt be cheering him on in his pursuit of that elusive fourth bracelet.

Phil Hellmuth Hanging on in $1,500 Freezeout
Event #28: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout surprisingly built a field of 2,319 entries in a format that is in decline.
Re-entries are all the rage these days but it’s good to see the traditional freezeout getting some support.
After 16 levels, the field has been reduced to the final 215 players, including Phil Hellmuth who is always motivated to increase his bracelet record of 17.
Benny Glaser Challenging for Back-to-Back Bracelets in $10K Limit 2-7 Triple Draw
Benny Glaser, from the United Kingdom, is pushing hard to win back-to-back bracelets in Event #29: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship.
65 players will return for Day 2 out of 125 who entered but late registration will continue until the end of the first level when play resumes.
Jason Mercier, Danny Tang, and Bin Went are all still in with a shout. Other notable names coming back for Day 2 are Chino Rheem, Jeremy Ausmus, and Allen Kessler!
