The WSOP 2024 Main Event has played down to the final 1,524 players with only seven more eliminations until the money bubble bursts.
At the end of yesterday’s session, 3,617 players were still in contention and more than half fell by the wayside today.
Amongst those who survived were no less than six past champions.
Today also saw two more bracelets awarded. Garth Yettick won his first bracelet in the $1,500 8-Game Mix. And Chance Kornuth won his fourth in the GGPoker style $1,000 Flip & Go NL event.
Francisco Perez Moreno Leads the WSOP 2024 Main Event
With the money bubble almost upon us, the Main Event is getting down to the sharp end where hopes and dreams are both made and crushed.
Currently, Spain’s Francisco Perez Moreno heads the field with a whopping 273 big blinds in front of a top eight who all have more than 200.
Ren Lin, a fan favourite who is often seen in the Triton Super High Roller Series, is on a hot run and ended Day 3 with 196 big blinds in ninth place.
Of the six past champions returning for Day 4, Koray Aldemir has the biggest stack with 55 big blinds and Joe McKeehen narrowly trailing with 53.
Scott Blumstein, Robert Varkonyi, Espen Jorstad, and Daniel Weinman are all still in the mix but have to start making moves soon before it’s too late.
Phil Ivey bagged up 75 big blinds and, as always, will be a man who nobody wants to see at their table.
