The attendance record for the World Series of Poker Main Event has been broken following the registration of 562 new entrants on Day 2d.
The new record now stands at an unofficial figure of 10,112 and the prizes have been set with the winner once again guaranteed to be leaving Las Vegas with an eight-figure prize.
All of the nine players who make the final table will be millionaires.
Although the field is the biggest ever, the organisers have declined to pay out a record prize for the last man standing.
This is likely down to the record of $12,100,000 only being set last year, breaking the previous best of $12,000,000 paid to Jamie Gold in 2006.
A total of 1,517 players will win a cash prize of at least $15,000 out of a $94,041,600 prize pool.

When play resumes for Day 3 tomorrow, there will be 3,617 players left in contention, still a long way from winning their stake back.
Alex Livingston, from Canada, was the player who bagged up the biggest stack at the end of Day 2d.
A monster 300 big blinds to play with should see him running deep if he avoids any particularly horrific luck. A 13th place finish in 2013 and 3rd in 2019 certainly gives him enough pedigree.
Adam Friedman is in seventh place, hoping he can win his sixth bracelet with the biggest score of his career.
And last year’s winner, Daniel Weinman, ended the day with more than 100 big blinds to give some hope of a deep run or maybe even becoming the first player since Stu Ungar to win more than one Main Event title.
Other Main Event winners coming back tomorrow are Joe McKeehen, Scotty Nguyen, Martin Jacobson, Espen Jorstad, and Ryan Riess, all with workable stacks.
And lastly, Phil Ivey will be returning with 113 big blinds, fully motivated to seize the crown we all think he deserves.

John Racener leads the way but it’s a tough final table for everyone. Josh Arieh and Maxx Coleman sit right behind the leader and mixed-game specialist Marco Johnson in fourth place.
It’s impossible to pick a favourite for the final day of this event.

Event #84: $600 Ultra Stack No-Limit Hold’em is another event eyeing up a record field after 4,038 more players registered.
788 of those will be returning tomorrow with a long- hard chase for the field to catch Rohit Hukmani who has more than double the chips of second place.
That’s 165 big blinds for the leader and only 76 for Vinay Gautam leading the rest of the field.
$1,000 Flip & Go Hybrid Event Sees Field of 1,088
Event #85: $1,000 Flip & Go No-Limit Hold’em Presented by GGPoker has brought something a little different to the WSOP 2024.
A hybrid style tournament which plays like an online Flip & Go on Day 1, switches back to normal play when the players resume action on Day 2.
Chance Kornuth, Scott Seiver, Chris Hunichwen, and Patrick Leonard were among the 136 players who won all of their flips and will be among the favourites tomorrow.
Event #83: $1,500 Eight Game Mix and Event #85: $1,000 Flip & Go No-Limit Hold’em presented by GGPoker will be playing to a finish tomorrow.
And two more events will kick off to give the unlucky players busting early from the Main Event something to do.
Event #86: $1,000 Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’em will kick off its inaugural edition at 10am local time, followed by Event #87: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold’em two hours later with Alex Keating possibly returning to defend his title.
