WSOP 2024 Day 10 – Erik Seidel Suffers Brutal Bad Beat as Three More Champions Are Crowned

Day 10 of the WSOP 2024 was marked by Erik Seidel suffering one of the most brutal bad beats we will ever witness — a one-outer! Three more WSOP champions were also crowned.

Event #13: $10,000 Dealer’s Choice Championship

Robert Mizrachi sealed the deal in Event #13: $10,000 Dealer’s Choice Championship which went on for one extra day with three players hanging on for dear life.

The remaining players returned for less than one hour before Mizrachi was crowned with his fifth bracelet and a $333,045 prize.

Event #15: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

American Caleb Furth outlasted his rivals at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas to capture a gold bracelet from Event #15.

He defeated China’s Jiyang Gan to bank $265,361, more than three times his previous best cash and more than half of his career total to date.

Event #16: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold’em

Only seven players remain in Event #16: $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold’em on a day that saw Erik Seidel slapped with the worst bad beat of his career.

The all-time great busted out in 21st place after getting rivered with the only card in the deck to send him home. Check out the video replay in the tweet above.

Eddie Ochana leads the way with six Americans at the final table and Indian Kartik Ved hanging on with 13 big blinds.

Event #17: $800 No-Limit Hold’em DeepStack

TJ Murphy took down Event #17: $800 No-Limit Hold’em DeepStack to earn his first WSOP bracelet.

The American put in a devastating performance to lead the way after the final table sat down to play and was never headed again.

Murphy collected a $368,977 prize and told interviewers that he would like to return to Las Vegas later in the summer to play again.

Event #18: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha

Ten finalists will return tonight to play the final session in Event #18: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha .

Legendary player Steve Zolotow is in the hunt for his third bracelet, a whopping 29 years after winning his first.

Other notable players in the mix are Dylan Weisman and Chino Rheem. Grzegorz Derkowski of Poland currently sits atop the chip counts with a healthy lead.

Event #19: $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship

Limit hold’em doesn’t attract the biggest crowds but at least we get to see some real quality players in these events.

Finland’s Juha Helppi is normally found in high-stakes PLO games but he made it into the final 14 with American Marco Johnson currently leading.

Event #20: $300 Gladiators of Poker No-Limit Hold’em

3,792 players turned out for the Gladiators event, from which 124 survived. Tonight Day 1b will shuffle up and deal with another monster field predicted.

Event #21: $25,000 High Roller Six-handed No-Limit Hold’em

Day 1 had 216 players register in the latest high-stakes event of this year’s series.

The 6-max format provides faster and more exciting play than a full table and we reckon this will provide plenty of action for the cameras in the coming days.

Plenty of heavyweights in this field, including Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, and Justin Bonomo.

Event #22: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Event #22: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw is another of the more obscure formats but we still saw 574 entrants on Day 1.

157 players remain with Benny Glaser from the UK sitting pretty in the top 10.
