$20,000 on the line, Phil Hellmuth just needed one point
It’s tennis prop bet time again for Phil Hellmuth, the Poker Brat teaming up with Mike The Mouth Matusow to livestream his latest attempt to take out a pro, with $20,000 on the line…
You can watch my tennis bet Monday 2 PM EST (1:45 interviews begin) LIVE on https://t.co/HfU5GPMuCx 20 serves from a pro and I need to score one point. I’m a rank amateur staring down 127 MPH serves, but getting 5-to-1 (my $4,000 to their $20,000). Randomness happens #POSITIVITY

Most folks, on twitter, and in the poker world, believe I won’t even touch the ball!! His serve is 127 MPH, but I have 20 attempts. I think it’s going going to be hard hard, but Fluky stuff happens #POSITIVITY

Phil Hellmuth loses $20,000 Tennis prop bet
If you watched the above video of the live stream, then you will already know that Phil Hellmuth lost the $20,000 Tennis prob bet.
Phil managed to return a few serves and came very close as all he needed was one point, but it wasn’t meant to be.
When the time finally came to shine again on the court, Phil had to learn the hard way that positivity doesn’t pay the prop bet bills…

Phil Hellmuth Tennis Prop Bet Part 1
Last year we saw Hellmuth staring down a seasoned pro, big Phil’s $2k getting 8-1 odds on even returning the ball – with an extra $7k if he could take a single point in 20 attempts.
Hellmuth was soon getting into the swing of things, some close calls even prompting the pro to attempt a buy-out as he realised Phil wasn’t quite the tennis patzer everyone had assumed…
$23,000 tennis serve return? 80 MPH max vs a pro (20 balls): $7,000 at evens to return one in play, $16,000 to my $2,000 that I score a point. Third video: I’m connecting w the serve and have a few close calls #TennisBrat pic.twitter.com/8onnYbwcfU

A heap of sidebets had also been placed, and Hellmuth later found out that even his friends had been betting against him – a very costly mistake for everyone involved, except Phil.
When the ‘moment of truth’ finally appeared, it was double-trouble for Hellmuth’s opponent – a fluffed return scraping over the net and a shocked pro blundering the ball back into the net…
The moment of truth: my $23,000 return of serve, and point! [First we discuss running it back] $7,000 I couldn’t return 1-in-20 80 MPH serves from a pro + $16,000-to-my-$2,000 I couldn’t score a point..Hello $23,000! #SlopCounts #Lucky #UnForcedErrorCounts #GoingWClutchShot pic.twitter.com/PiOlRCSXLw

That was an easy $23k in the bag for Phil and so it was little surprise when he accepted this year’s prop bet, and there was a positive double at the poker table that may have provided inspiration for the double-whammy tennis attempt…
Nice job @PokerTrue! Rami won my $2,000 buy in “Beat The Brat” tourney two years in a row!! $23,000 yesterday here at @IsleCasinoPP, and $22,000 last year. Sadly for me, I bubbled (5th, 4 were paid) and whined like the “Poker Brat!” #POSITIVITY pic.twitter.com/zF4swlF0ZG

There’s rarely a moment of doubt in Phil Positivity Hellmuth’s life, the 16-time WSOP bracelet winner gee-ing himself up by tweeting his ‘drop the mic’ moment yesterday…
Can I do it again tomorrow? Watch LIVE on @themouthmatusow YouTube channel 2 PM EST. This video from last year: won $25,000 (25 dimes), and dropped the mic (racket) #POSITIVITY pic.twitter.com/akTpqK1OAZ
