The Valley National 8-Ball League Association (VNEA) has accidentally leaked on its Facebook page that the WSOP will take place at Bally’s from 2022 on.
World Series of Poker to move from the RIO to Bally’s
For many years, there were rumours that the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is moving from the Rio to the Strip. Now they are becoming a reality as the VNEA has leaked that the Bally’s is the new home of the WSOP.
The news was published by the most unlikely sources namely on the Facebook page of The Valley National 8-Ball League Association (VNEA):
“VNEA’s long-term contract with Bally’s Hotel & Casino was suddenly cancelled”
The VNEA used to host its annual Pool Billiard championship at Bally’s. In the above post it announces that:
“VNEA’s long-term contract with Bally’s Hotel & Casino was suddenly cancelled by Bally’s as a result of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) moving from Rio to the Bally’s/Paris properties in 2022 and beyond.”
We asked WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart for a statement, but he didn’t want to comment on the news.
2021 WSOP to run from September 30 – November 23
The 2021 World Series of Poker is confirmed to start on September 30th at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
It will feature 88 bracelet events with the 2021 WSOP Main Event taking place from November 4 – 17.
The Main Event Final Table will kick off on November 16th and the new World Champion will be crowned on November 17th.
It looks pretty likely that this is the last WSOP final table in history, which will take place in the Rio and that the WSOP Main Event Champion will be celebrated on the Strip in the future.
