Tom Dwan Signs Brand Ambassador Deal with ACR Poker

Tom Dwan has shocked the poker community by unexpectedly signing a deal with ACR Poker to represent them as a brand ambassador.

The renowned high-stakes player has been a fixture of the poker world for two decades. Famed for his ultra-aggressive style of play, Dwan — AKA “durrrr” — has been a fan favourite for a long time.

So what will Dwan bring to the table at ACR Poker? Well, his profile, for a start.

Those who have been around the poker world since the pre-Black Friday days will remember that Dwan was the poster boy for the high-stakes tables, particularly the heads-up cash ones

Could we be about to see an exciting revival of the nosebleed cash games?

What Can We Expect Tom Dwan to Bring to ACR Poker?

We have heard that ‘Durrrr’s Game’ is in the pipeline. A new challenge that will see Tom Dwan take on some of poker’s biggest names in matches that will be live streamed to the masses.

Tom Dwan said:

“I’m really excited to be joining the ACR team. CEO Phil Nagy and I share a similar view on online poker and I’m excited to see where this relationship can take us and grow the game for players.”

A spokesperson for ACR Poker added:

“We’re really excited to bring Tom Dwan aboard. His bold, daring approach to poker is a great fit with ACR Poker’s mentality and we’re excited that he’ll be working with us to bring big poker to more people, both in the U.S. and around the world.”

But it’s not all been too rosy for Tom Dwan recently.

His unwillingness to resume his infamous ‘Durrrr Challenge’ match against Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates and to pay what is due is just the most well-known of his issues.

Dwan has also been called out in the last week for not paying various gambling debts by Peter Jetten and Haralabos Voulgaris, causing even further harm to his reputation.

Jetten says Dwan owes him $226,000 and has refused to pay for the last four years, making one excuse after another.

Voulgaris says he gave Dwan money to place sports bets for him but he lost the winnings trying to do the same for another betting group and couldn’t pay. He still owes $350,000.

Let’s not forget that in May 2023, Tom Dwan won a whopping $3.1 million pot on Hustler Casino Live — the biggest ever pot in TV poker history! Surely he could pay up if he wanted to.

Anyway, enough of the negative, let’s look forward to seeing what Tom Dwan and ACR Poker have in store for us over the coming months.

We’re already salivating at the possibility of some classic rematches in the future. Dwan versus Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, or Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom? We certainly hope so!
