Timothy Adams wins back-to-back Super High Roller Bowls
Canada’s Timothy Adams took down the Super High Roller Bowl in Sochi this evening, fending off a field of the world’s best to land the $3.6million first prize at the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS finale, having won the SHRB Australian title only last month…

The $250,000 buy-in was by far the biggest of the week in the Russian Black Sea resort, with 30 players accounting for 40 entries to what is likely to be the last big event for a while as the poker world closes its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Only six players would be sharing in the $10million prizepool, and that meant a lot of huge names missing out.
Bryn Kenney, the all-time number one tournament money-winner fell early, as did Phil Ivey, who was coming off the back of an excellent win and runner-up spot in the Short Deck events this week.
Jason Koon, Kahle Burns, Paul Phua and the Greenwood brothers Sam and Luc all fell, the latter at the hands of England’s Stephen Chidwick.
Don't look now, Stephen Chidwick has the Super High Roller Russia 🇷🇺 chip lead after this crazy hand! 📈🤪📈

That left seven players returning for today’s showdown, and unfortunately for Chidwick he would be departing on the money bubble. By now short-stacked, he fell at the hands of Germany’s Christoph Vogelsang.
That meant a min cash of $600,000 for the half dozen remaining, and Ivan Leow was the one to pick up that cheque, Vogelsang once again the executioner.
Although some of the most skilled poker players in the world were battling it out, a little luck is required to go all the way, and Spain’s Adrian Mateos had next to none today.
From chip leader to bust in less than half an hour, Mateos hit the rail in 5th when he lost his 3rd race out of 3, England’s Ben Heath spiking two aces on the flop, leaving Mateos with an $800,000 payout.

Adams, Heath, Vogelsang and Badziakouski had all sealed a $1million cash, but it would take a long time to separate them – several hours in fact as the chips were traded to and fro.
Eventually, England’s Ben Heath took a stand with just 12 big blinds and although he flopped an open-ender and backdoor flush draw, the turn and river bricked. The $1million 4th place prizemoney will be plenty of compensation though.
That left Mikita Badziakouski as the short stack, and unfortunately for the Belarus highroller it would be his last stand as Vogelsang called his button shove…
Badziakouski: A♣ Q♥
Vogelsang: J♥ 3♠
“Just don’t let me be drawing dead… give me a sweat!” was the partypoker pro’s response to the flop…
Flop: J♠ 9♠ 3♠
…and although he got that….
Turn:8♠
…there was no save for Badziakouski
River: 4c
…and he was out in 3rd for $1.6million.
Vogelsang against Adams heads-up started out fairly even in stacks, with $1.2million difference between 1st and 2nd, and a beautiful SHRB ring going to the winner.
Heads up with $3,600,000 and the💍up top.

Timothy Adams wins Super High Roller Bowl Russia
It would also see one of the duo bag a 2nd SHRB title and join Justin Bonomo as a two-time winner. Vogelsang took down the 2017 SHRB in Vegas for $6million, while Adams won the SHRB Australia just last month for $1.45million.
It was a cagey heads-up affair, but as the hours wore on and the players agreed to skip a level, it eventually came down to an ace-over-ace confrontation.
Adams: A♥ 9♠
Vogelsang: A♣ 6♦
The German required some help, but none was forthcoming as the board ran out…
Board: 5♣ 2♦ 10♥ J♥ 9♦
That was enough for Adams to lift the title and $3.6million, with Vogelsang’s runner-up spot good for $2.4million.
