The PokerGO Tour (PGT) Last Chance series spans six $10k buy-in tournaments this week, giving players a final opportunity to make it into the $1million freeroll Championship finale.

The hype surrounding Dream Seats and Dream Passes, along with big prizepools, led to a record 119 entries for event #2, topping the previous biggest field of 114 at the PokerMasters opener in 2023.

First port of call was reaching the 17 paid spots and a host of big names would fall short: Alex Foxen, Phil Hellmuth, Scott Seiver and Erik Seidel among them. The bubble-boy tag went to Brock Wilson, all-in for his final 20 bigs…

Wilson: 10♥ 10♣

Serock: A♣ K♦

Flop: 3♣ J♣ 7♥

Turn: K♠

Riiver: 5♠

A nasty turn card for Wilson but a $17,500 min. cash payday for the survivors.

By the time the final table was reached there were seven contenders, led by Stephen Song, all with $47,600 locked up along with precious leaderboard points.

The lead was short-lived, however, as Shorr showed the big pair can sometimes win, his jacks taking down big slick. That was followed by Adam Hendrix’s exit, Serock’s pocket 5s winning a race by the simple process of flopping a full house.

With no player terribly deep stacked, the ever-popular Ren Lin would hit thee rail, running a big ace into Song’s bigger ace, and Tollerene followed him to the payout desk…

Tollerene: A♦ 6♣

Serock: 8♦ 6♦

Tollerene called Serock’s blind-on-blind shove but the runout just kept getting worse…

Flop: 10♥ 9♥ 6♠

Turn: J♦

River: Q♦

Song’s hopes of a second PGT victory of 2024 ended at the hands of Shorr, the latter flopping top pair and that just left the podium spots to be decided.

David Chen would have to settle for third. Like Shorr against Song he got it in worse then flopped the lead, but the turn in this hand dealt a final twist and Chen was out for $130,900.

There was to be no repeat of event #1s marathon heads-up battle though as a quick one-two settled matters, the denouement below…

Serock: 5♠ 5♣

Shorr: A♦ 6♥

Flop: A♥ A♠ 8♦

Turn: 4♠

River: 3♥
