Seth Davies is the new king of PLO, the US pro winning the PLO Super High Roller Bowl last night. Davies picked up $1.5million and became the first player to do the SHRB double despite at one point only having two big blinds at the final table.
The $100k Pot-Limit Omaha version of the Super High Roller Bowl, presented by Vision GTO Trainer at the PokerGO Studio in the Aria, brought together the crème de la crème of, mainly, US highstakes players.
As we reported earlier, Daniel Negreanu busted two bullets on day one and was joined on the rail by Alex Foxen, Jason Koon, Nick Schulman among others.
With only seven players paid, but that min. cash worth $170,000, the money bubble was always going to be a painful affair for someone. Surprisingly, that someone was Jeremy Ausmus, who already has more than 20 PGT cashes this year…
Jeremy Ausmus: K♦ Q♠ 6♠ 2♥
Artem Maksimov: A♣ Q♦ 2♦ 2♠
Blind on blind, all the chips went in on the flop…
Flop: J♠ J♦ 6♦
Turn: 8♦
River: 4♠
Now in the money, the remaining seven played on until both Ben Tollerene and Sam Soverel fell, five players coming back for the final days’ play.
Topping that quintet, Jared Bleznick looking for back-to-back PLO SHRB titles having won the inaugural event last year.

Bleznick was joined by Maksimov, Josh Arieh, Sean Winter and Seth Davies, all chasing the $1,500,000 up top. Winter took out short-stacked Arieh and then Bleznick – bleeding chips most of the day – joined him on the sidelines.
Three-handed, and Winter’s hope of SHRB glory were ended when he rivered a full house and shoved, only to find Davies had made quads – 3rd place and $600,000 the consolation.
For Davies, it was just another part of an incredible run that had seen him fight back from just two big blinds, later describing it as “a PLO tournament, craziness happens!”
Heads-up between Davies and Maksimov saw the Russian close the gap but he was unable to keep that momentum going. Eventually it came down to the following hand, Davies calling Maksimov’s 3-bet…
Davies: A♥ J♠ 6♠ 4♣
Maksimov: A♠ K♣ 8♣ 7♠
Flop: Q♥ 4♥ 3♦
…and then calling the shove with second pair…
Turn: 5♦
River: 4♦
For Maksimov it was a career-best cash and for Davies it meant being the first player to take down both NLH and PLO versions of the Super High Roller Bowl. He also joins Justin Bonomo, Isaac Haxton, and Timothy Adams with two SHRB titles, Bonomo and Adams also having won two SHRB titles in the same year.
