A hand misread cost Hustler Casino Live player San Man an expensive $42,000 pot this week, his river call with only six high leading to gasps of horror as he realised his costly error…

The popular Thirsty Thursday livestreamed game at the Hustler Casino in California’s Redondo Beach at Gardena burst into life in an entirely unexpected way.
“San Man”, who describes himself as a “bench warmer” for HCL’s ‘Max Pain Monday’ show, was certainly feeling the pain as he misread his hole cards.
Thinking he had a five in his hand, rather than his actual 6♠ 4♣, he proceeded to check -call three streets including a $14,300 river bet with his imaginary trip fives.
“Oh my god. I don’t have a five,” he exclaimed, staring in horror at the board.
The expensive error sparked a discussion over whether or not he should have been refunded his river bet, given that it was a genuine mistake with no angleshooting involved.
“I’m giving the bet back every time here or at least half the bet. He would never call with 64 if he didn’t misread the hand. That’s just sad man,” tweeted Bruskiiz.
Twitter poker fan Tyler agreed, writing: “Should absolutely be giving the bet back when caller can’t even beat a bluff Kinda gross the other guy didn’t even have a discussion to negotiate ANYTHING.”
Others weren’t so accommodating, however:
“Should not give anything back. Would he have called any street? No, he wouldn’t have. Should he have remembered his cards or re-checked them at some point? Yes he should have,” tweeted Dale Kerr.
You can read both of their minds exactly on River.
San Man (hesitating to put chips, waiting for Dr H to offer to give last bet back) “is he gonna offer? Why hasn’t he offered?”
Dr H “he better not ask, nobody better say shit, I’m taking that money, that’s my money. Stay stoic”
