Samuel Vousden Scoops GGMillion$ SHR title for $434,345

Finnish online star Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden took down this week’s GGMillion$ Super High Roller, seeing off a final table of fellow crushers to scoop the $434,345 top prize.

Samuel Vousden

Vousden started the way he meant to continue at the final table, ousting Dutch legend Jans Arends in 9th and the only US pro at the table, Michael Jozoff, in 8th spot. He then took out Anatski and Tantillo before a run-in with Artsiom Lasouski.

Lasouski has had a busy – and very successful – week on both the live and online felt. The Belarusian picked up a monster $669,000 win at the Triton Poker Montenegro stop and added another $688,000 in bounties.

His clash with Vousden wasn’t as successful, though, his pocket 10s ahead of Vousden’s Qs9c. An incredible flop solved all of Vousden’s problems and Lasouski had to be content with a 4th place finish and $199,148.

Lasouski Exit

Down to three and there was still more than $1million in prizemoney to be divvied up, Vousden, Brazil’s Bruno Volkmann and the UK-based German, “Promoking” aka Mauricio Ferreira Pais, still in the mix.

Flopped top pair against turned second pair brought an end to Volkmann’s deep run, leaving Vousden and Pais heads-up for the title. A cagey battle ensued but some 30 minutes in, the duo clashed for the last time.

Vousden: J 10

Pais: A K

Flop: 5 Q 9

Turn: K

The best card possible for Vousden and the worst for Pais and when the river came…

River: A

…there was no way all the chips weren’t going in, Pais receiving the bad news.
