Hand of the Week: Quads Vs. Quads on Hustler Casino Live

This week’s Hand of the Week comes courtesy of Gary Blackwood who was making another appearance on Hustler Casino Live’s Thirsty Thursday show.

Hand of the Week: Quads Vs. Quads on Hustler Casino LiveThe mid-high stakes cash grinder, better known as Gazzy B,  has turned into one of the most exciting poker vloggers in the space over the last three years, and his appearances on livestream shows always guarantee fireworks and strategically interesting hands.

The hand that we’re going to look at today was in a round of PLO and a double board bomb pot. A bit of a mouthful if you’re used to an average NL full ring game.

The pre-flop action isn’t shown in the video, picking up after two flops have rolled out with a pot of $1,800 to fight over. 5♠ 3♦ 8♦ and 7♠ 7♣ K♠ with nine players still in contention.

The action checks to Gazzy B in the CO who has an easy pot building bet with his K♥ K♣ 3♠ 3♥ for bottom set and a full house on the two boards. He leads out for $400 and Shay in the big blind quickly comes over the top for $3,000.

This is quite an escalation, but his 10♥ 8♥ 7♦ 5♦ gives him top two pair on board one and trips on board two. Safely for him, he is currently crushed in both spots.

With nobody else holding anything that should be interested in fighting for this pot, it folds back around to Gazzy B who needs to call $2,600 to continue.

Shay has $4,720 left behind, covering Gazzy B who now needs to decide if slowplaying is in order. Shay’s raise with eight players left in the hand screams strength but sometimes it pays to be aggressive if you think your opponent will read it for weakness.

Whatever his reasoning, Gazzy B chooses to stay aggressive and three-bets the flop to $5,600, hitting the $5,000 table cap. Shay calls it off and the pot ends up at $11,800.

The turns run out Q♦ and 7♥, giving Shay a flush and quads, and crucially, taking the lead on both boards away from Gazzy B. This looks as cruel as you can get in poker.

The river on board one is the 9♣, giving Shay at least half of the pot. And on board two, incredibly, the K♦ comes down to give us quads over quads, with the net result being $900 won by both players.

Did you ever see this in all of your poker career? Also it was great to see CoinPoker sponsored Gazzy B in great spirits even while it looked like he was about to lose on both boards.
