Infamous Dutch poker player Joran van der Sloot has finally confessed to murdering Natalie Holloway, claiming he smashed her head in with a rock after she rejected his unwanted sexual advances on an Aruba beach.
It was 2005, when the then-18-year-old Natalie was on spring break on the Caribbean island.
After having the misfortune to meet van der Sloot, then 17-years -old, at a nightclub, she was never seen again.
Five years after her disappearance, van der Sloot murdered another young woman, this time during a poker tournament in Lima, Peru.
He was sentenced to 28 years in jail for the brutal slaying of Stephany Flores Ramirez, but was also trying to extort money from Natalie’s mother, Beth Holloway.
That extortion attempt, which saw him receive $25,000 of the $250,000 he wanted to reveal details of her body’s whereabouts, is what brought van der Sloot to a US court this past week, extradited from Peru for the trial.
Having previously alluded to murdering Natalie, this week he finally revealed the details of how she met her death, as part of a plea deal that saw him sentenced to another 20 years for extortion and wire fraud.
According to Beth, van der Sloot told law enforcement officials that he was enraged when Natalie rejected his sexual advances while walking home from an Aruban bar.
When Natalie kneed him in the crotch to stop his sexual attack, Van der Sloot kicked her in the head and then caved her head in with a cinder block lying nearby.
He then claims to have half-dragged, half-carried Natalie’s lifeless body and threw her into the water, explaining why her body has never been found.
Beth Holloway says after van der Sloot killed her daughter he disposed of her in the water. She says a polygraph test verified his statement.

Van der Sloot’s 20-year-sentence for the extortion and wire act fraud is set to run consecutively with his 28-year murder sentence for the Flores slaying during the 2010 Latin America Poker Tour (LAPT) stop in Lima.
However, it is unlikely he will ever face trial in the Holloway murder as the USA does not have jurisdiction over Aruban cases, and the Aruban statute of limitations appears to have run out two years ago.
Beth Holloway, though, said this week: “His power is gone. His hold over me is gone. You know, it took 18 years for us to shift roles to where now I feel like I was the victor over him.”
Of Natalie, she stated: “She stood up for what is right, and what she believed in. She was willing to die for it. I mean, she lost her life, but she fought her perpetrator. So, I’m really proud of her.”
Joran van der Sloot, a wannabe poker pro who has no live cashes and barely $2000 in recorded online results, will be returned to Lima to serve out his sentences.
