Poker Legends Jungleman and Trueteller Set to Square Off in the Ring

The poker world should be in for a treat as two of the best poker players in the world Dan “Jungleman” Cates and Timofey “Trueteller” Kutzetsov have announced a fight between themselves on the “Winning the Game of Life” podcast.

Will it Be Boxing or MMA?

In the podcast, Jungleman asks Trueteller if he would be willing to fight him, to which Trueteller responded positively, asking what the rules of the fight would be.

Jungleman, who was clearly excited about the idea, said that he would be a good opponent for the Russian but didn’t want to hurt him

Trueteller agreed and suggested that they needed a judge who could call off the fight quickly if things got out of hand.

Jungleman then mentions that he was currently training in Kung Fu, not boxing, and that he wouldn’t be able to fight soon, even though he was fit. The pair then admit that they have never been in a fight before.

Trueteller explained that he is a fight fan and his fighting idol is Khabib Nurmagomedov, citing his mentality of being in a deep peace with his emotions and aggression.

Jungleman also asks Trueteller about his own competitive nature, inquiring if he enjoys competing with himself as much as he does with others. He answers that he does, particularly in activities such as weightlifting, always seeking improvements.

Many are now asking which format the fight will be in—boxing or mixed martial arts?

Over on 2+2 some were worried that Jungleman would be too vulnerable in an MMA fight against a younger and fitter opponent who is known for keeping a high level of fitness.

One poster wrote:

“I do worry for Jungle though. I don’t know anything about TT’s athletic ability, but many/most young men if they have average athletic ability or above are very capable of throwing a flurry of hurtful punches, kicks or blows, and if they fight as MMA it is way worse than boxing because of kicks, elbows and knees being allowed and no heavy padded gloves being used.”

The rest of the podcast covers some interesting topics in the world of poker and the pair go through their own thoughts together.

They talk about the recent Twitter debate on whether a GTO program can outperform a top-level human in large field tournaments and how mathematics relates to poker today.

There is also a segment on politics between the United States and Russia.

Most interesting for many will be the discussion on the preparation to jump into high stakes poker. Jungleman and Trueteller are two of the best ever to do it so this will be gold for some viewers.

There is much more in the interview. Check out the full video above.

Overall, it seems that the poker world is excited about the possibility of a fight between these two top players.

Whether or not it will actually happen remains to be seen, but it’s clear that both Jungleman and Trueteller are open to the idea and are currently discussing how they can make it happen.

It could be a fun and exciting event for the poker community to watch. Poker fight fans should also get ready to witness one of the most bizarre prop bets in poker history when Bill Perkins fights MJ Gonzales on his knees!
