Poker Hand of the Week - Timothy Adams Monster Bluff at the Super High Roller Bowl Russia

He is also one of our protagonists and the other one is Luc Greenwood. We are relatively early in the tournament, in the middle of Day 1, when this insane hand develops…

Poker Hand of the Week Action

Preflop Action:

With a big blind ante of 8,000 Luc Greenwood makes it 10,000 from the Cut-Off with A♠K♦, Timothy Adams ccalls the raise from the small blind with  Q♠J♦  and Jason Koon defends his big blinds, since he gets very good pot odds with T♥3♥.  Pot Size: 38,000

Flop:

The flop 5♥A♦9♦ comes almost perfect for Greenwood, having flopped top pair top kicker, while the other two completely wiff. Now it gets interesting as Luc decides to check and Adams takes a stab at it by betting 23,000 into 38,000. Greenwood calls and Koon folds. Pot size: 84,000

Turn:

On the 3♦ the flush comes in and Timothy quickly bets 29,000 and Luc calls again. Pot Size: 142,000

River:

The River K♣ makes Luc Greenwood Top Two Pair, but the action is on Timothy Adams, who now jams All-in for 2.2 times potsize sending Greenwood deep into the tank.

After tanking more than 2 minutes, Luc Greenwood actually decides to fold Top Two! Timothy Adams collects the pot with a cheeky grin on his face.

Poker Hand of the Week Analysis

In our opinion, this is one of the most exciting and interesting hand in recent times.

It all starts preflop, where Luc Greenwood makes an interesting check with Top Top and Timothy Adams takes a stab at it with the intention to win the pot right here.

When Luc calls and the flush comes in on the turn, Adams decides to turn his hand into a bluff.

The river is actually a pretty good card for Luc, but Timothy Adams continues to tell his story of a big hand. He does this with a massive overbet of more than two times potsize, which polarizes his hand to the nuts or nothing.

Conclusion Poker Hand of the Week

A very strong move from Adams, however Luc Greenwood also makes a slight mistake as Top Two Pair on this board is simply too strong to fold and by doing so, he makes himself exploitable by his opponents.

Well played by Timothy Adams, but Luc Greenwood has to call.
