The 3♥ on the turn is a blank and Nik Airball now overbets the pot with a $30,000 second barrel and Pepe quickly calls. Pot Size: $82,750

River:

The 4♠ on the river completes the flush draw and Airball overbets shoves putting Pepe All-In for his remaining $146,875.

Pepe goes deep into the tank for three and a half minutes before folding just to get shown Ten-high like a boss by Nik Airball, who wins a huge $229,825 Pot.

Poker Hand of the Week Analysis

Great bluff by Nik Airball. Let’s go through it step by step.

First of all, it’s important to note that Pepe has the reputation to play very tight.

You can limp preflop with Qd9d in the cut-off as the hand plays well post-flop and you are in position.

The problem is that two very aggressive players with Yoh Viral and Nik Airball are in the big blind and straddle and you are inviting them to squeeze.

That’s exactly what happens and so Pepe ends up having to pay more to call Airball’s raise with 10s9c than if he had raised himself.

Since the squeeze is coming from Nik Airball in the stradlle, his range is very wide and he doesn’t have to have a hand here.

The flop comes KcQs2s and Nik makes a $6,000 cbet with a gutsot straight draw. Pepe has an easy call with middle pair.

The 3d on the turn is an absolute blank. Nik Airball makes a huge $30,000 overbet into a $22,750 pot.

Since the turn didn’t change anything, this bet doesn’t make much sense, which is most likely the reason why Pepe snap-calls-

Things change on the 4s river though as the frontt door flush comes in and Airball overbet shoves.

Now this has turned into an incredibly difficult call for Pepe as he has no blockers, and he loses against any King and a couple of Queens such as Q-1o or Q-J.

Pepe clearly senses that something is going on, but after more than three minutes in the tank he folds the winner.

Poker Hand of the Week Conclusion

This hand is a prefect example of playing the player, not the cards.

Nik Airball has quite some history with Pepe and knows that he is among the tightest players at Hustler Casino Live.

With a highly exploitative play, he beautifully takes advantage of his opponent’s tendencies making it an epic bluff.
