Poker Hand of the Week – Wiktor “limitless” Malinowski Wins $1,000,000 Pot!

Poker Hand of the Week Setup

In our Poker Hand of the Week we analyse the biggest pot of 2022 worth $1,000,000 won by online cash game legend Wiktor “limitless” Malinowski in a massive $2,000/$4,000 cash game at GGPoker.

The Super MILLION$ Week brought the high stakes action and massive NL$2000/$4000 game featuring Wiktor “limitless” Malinowski, Mikita “fish2013” Badziakouski, Marius Gierse and “Katya18” back to the GGNetwork.

However, driving the action lately was an unknown player from Austria named “BIEDERMEIR”.

Poker Hand of the Week – Wiktor “limitless” Malinowski Wins $1,000,000 Pot!

The game in play is 6-max NL$2,000/$4,000 and the effective stack sizes at the beginning of the hand are 115 big blinds with Barak Wisbrod having both “limitless and “BIEDERMEIR” clearly covered.

Poker Hand of the Week Action

K♠Q♥9♣

Preflop Action:

Crazytrader raises from the button to $4,000 with K♠Q♥ and limitless makes it $20,000 to go with a very large 5x 3bet and 9♣8♣. Crazytrader calls and just like that there are already a whopping $44,000 in the pot before the flop is even dealt.

Flop:

The flop 5♥9♠Q♠ is very interesting as it not only is a pretty wet board, but also makes two aggressive players top and middle pair. Limitless goes for a rather small cbet of 30% pot by betting $13,200 into $44,000.

When the action is back on crazytrader it gets spicy as he goes for a massive overbet shove by shoving his massive stack of $376,520 into a pot of only $57,200!

Very tough spot for limitless, who has a stack-to-pot ratio (SPR) of 0,3857, which means he gets great pot odds of 3.5 to 1.

Wiktor Malinowski goes deep into the tank for 45 seconds and eventually decides on a call and they agree to run it twice, which is a good deal for limitless as his odds to win the hand are only 19.09%. Pot Size: $405,200

First Runout:

The 5♦ turn of the first runout is a very bad card for limitless as he now only has 2 outs as all his two pair combinations are counterfeited.

On the river the 8♦ indeed makes Malinowski Two Pair Nines and Eights, but crazytrader has the higher Two Pair with Queens and Fives and wins the first half of the pot.

What makes it even worse for limitless is that he has one out less for the second runout reducing the number of outs to only three.

Second Runout:

The 10♦ on the turn doesn’t changes anything as crazytrader is blocking the straight. That means Malinowski is left with only 3 outs and a 6% probability to win half the pot.

Bink on the 8♦ river Wiktor hits the three-outer! An incredibly lucky runout for the Polish high stakes prodigy as the massive $405,200 pot is split in half after being down to a mere three outs.

Poker Hand of the Week Analysis

Another sick, sick hand from railbird heaven! Let’s go through it step by step.

The preflop button raise and call from crazytrader is absolute standard. Wiktor could have called here, but Suited Connectors don’t play that well out of position and so I don’t mind the 3-bet with the main aim to resteal the pot pre, but crazytrader calls.

On the flop things escalated quickly after two aggressive players both make a pair. Limitless makes a small cbet with his middle pair.

I really like the flop play by crazytrader, who goes for a massive overshove making it look like he is on a draw on this wet board. The plan works out perfectly as he sucks limitless into calling, while he is only 19% to win the hand.

That Wiktor Malinowski manages to chop the pot after running it twice, especially regarding that he won the second run only having three outs, is simply bad luck for crazytrader.

As you can see, not everybody loves a chop pot!
