Russell Crowe’s Movie “Poker Face” is Out
Last night’s premiere of Poker Face, the film!!! @AngelGuillen25, Bodhi and I had the honour of working with @russellcrowe on the poker scenes which look sensational up on the big screen in all the glory of movie magic! 🤩 🎞️ aaaand look out for me as Allison Foley! 👀 pic.twitter.com/c7axMzhaIP

The plot of the movie is set around the character of Jake Foley—played by Russell Crowe—who is in a high stakes poker game with tech billionaires.
When a killer is discovered to be in the house, things then take a dark turn.
World Poker Tour Host Lynn Gilmartin Takes Minor Role
In an attempt to ensure that the poker scene looked authentic, World Poker Tour host and commentator Lynn Gilmartin worked as a consultant alongside PokerStars Team Pro Angel Guillen.
Gilmartin also took a minor role in the movie as the character Alison Foley in what is her 13th credited appearance in a movie production according to IMDB.

The consulting didn’t seem to have the desired effect, though, because in the very first hand of the session, we see two straight flush draws in a heads-up pot with both bricking. Quite an anti-climax!
It is now 25 years since the classic Rounders was released and poker fans are still hungry to see that same authenticity at the table. Molly’s Game and Casino Royale being two other exceptions even though the latter did contain some ridiculous run outs.
Following the premiere, we are seeing mixed reviews so far. Russell Crowe and co-star Liam Hemsworth carry the movie to some extent but Paul Tassone who plays the role of the villain is accused of over-the-top theatrics.
Hardcore poker fans will be also disappointed with the amount of actual poker seen in the movie.
So, as always, it’s best to take a look yourselves and make your own mind up about whether this is a classic or not. We think it unlikely even given the star quality in the cast.
