Phil Ivey is yet to visit the WSOP in Las Vegas,, but will instead play in the NL$200/$400 high stakes cash game at Hustler Casino this Friday and Saturday together with live cash game crusher Garett Adelstein.

Phil Ivey prefers high stakes cash over the WSOP
The game will feature a minimum buy-in of $100,000, so no riff raff allowed it seems. But we do expect to see both Ivey and Adelstein buying in for more, possibly the maximum.
Garett Adelstein is one of the biggest stars of the game, even if not quite as well-known as Ivey. He is a regular at Live at the Bike, where he is thought to be the best player that sits in the game.
We expect these two giants of the game to clash on occasion and give the fans one of the best poker shows seen in recent months.
Ivey Previously Announced that He Will Play the 2021 WSOP
Back in May 2021, Phil Ivey sat down with Daniel Negreanu and Terrence Chan to revisit many parts of his career and also about chat about his feelings on the World Series of Poker.
The response was positive, highlighting that he will be returning to the Rio when all is well with the world again.
Whether or not he feels that this is where we stand five months later is anybody’s guess, but we do expect to see him return for the high roller events at least.
“I still love the World Series of Poker. It’s definitely my favourite group of events. I just…had some personal things that I needed to deal with the last couple of years so that I was not really able to give my attention and energy towards it. I look forward to playing those events in the future when they come back.”
