Phil Hellmuth and Mike Matusow may be the most unlikely duo to ever appear in the White House, but voters needn’t worry – the ‘temporary President and Vice-President’ were just there on a private tour.
Hello West Wing!! Doing a private tour w Geri (Mikey’s GF) and @themouthmatusow, so much amazing history here! Rose garden, Roosevelt Room, Oval Office, Situation Room, Press Room, and more #PHNiceLife #POSITIVITY #WestWing pic.twitter.com/fZ50lWRdM3

The legendary poker pair, with Matusow’s ‘First Lady’ Geri in tow, made the most of their time in Washington DC’s most iconic building.
There was no word on whether President Donald Trump was on the Phil and Mike agenda, and tourist photos from the Oval Office are apparently forbidden in any event.
The Press Room and other West Wing attractions, though, were captured for posterity.

More often than not it’s poker fans who are doing the ‘selfie with the Poker Brat’ photo opportunity, but Helmuth’s DC trip appeared to cast him in the role of a fanboy.
First up he appeared with celebrity chef and Nobel Peace Prize-nominated World Central Kitchen-founder José Andrés, his stellar non-profit ‘devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters’.
Then he latched on to Washington Capitals legend Peter Bondra. The former Slovakian National team coach is also in the record books for bagging 500 NHL goals.

There was poker on the agenda as well, of course.
Phil swapped his Poker Brat player role for his ‘Positivity’ persona as MC of the Charity for Life tournament, at the MGM National Harbour casino on the shores of the Potomac river…

Matusow and Hellmuth taking pictures
Mike ‘The Mouth’ Matusow also managed to suppress his natural poker-pro emotions when he busts out, running his pocket kings into two pairs on the flop and that was that, a smile to go with the cooler…
Matusow may have run cold in the charity poker event. However, it was Hellmuth feeling the chill when they eventually met up for their tourist day out…
Mikey @themouthmatusow spotted me waiting for him to walk down the Lincoln Memorial steps, and took this: SNAP! Hoodie up: I was cold! pic.twitter.com/MADl3J1XxK

Washington, politics and poker legends seem to be the in-thing this month, Daniel Negreanu last week sharing a stage with Democrat presidential candidate Andrew Yang…
Proud supporter of @AndrewYang and looking forward to the next chapter.
Love em’ or Love em’ he isn’t going anywhere… #yangang # pic.twitter.com/4wDVfQhXbs

Although it was Yang’s farewell to the 2020 campaign trail, his support for poker has certainly made him a lot of new friends in the community…
Solid photobomb from Yang there! https://t.co/Xytf6w9SxW
