Poker legend Phil Hellmuth has recently appeared in Doug Polk’s podcast and clapped back at some online haters who were disrespecting him.
Phil Hellmuth is certainly fed up with everybody who is not giving him credit for his game.
While there are lots of people who consider him to be one of the greatest tournament players in the world, there are also lots of haters of have been making fun of his playstyle for many years.
Phil Hellmuth scored the most WSOP cashes in history and has the most WSOP final appearances amongst all players. However, there are still plenty of critics who were doubting his skills.
Admittedly, Hellmuth is certainly a special character at the table. He has been berating players so many times at the table, that it would be a difficult task to count each time he tried to teach his opponent “some proper poker”.

Furthermore, many players and fans of poker consider him to be extremely arrogant at the table. But even his entrances to the WSOP have also become legendary amongst the poker audience.
Nevertheless, it’s predominantly the younger poker audience that has been playing mainly online poker that has been disrespecting the poker brat.
There have been numerous occasions when he ranted out directly at his opponents at the table, there are multiple compilations on YouTube of Hellmuth’s most epic blow-ups.
Phil Hellmuth claps back
Hellmuth is currently preparing for the highly anticipated highstakes duel against Tom Dwan. The heads-up will be part of PokerGo’s “High Stakes Duel III” and right now, Hellmuth remains unbeaten in the seven matches that he has played thus far.
Yet, some poker players don’t give him enough credit, he feels. Unlike many other online grinders, who are focusing on GTO, he has been playing a fairly unconventional style of poker which is not particularly in line with the newest game theories.
Nevertheless, it is safe to say that he is certainly one of the most successful players in history and therefore has to be doing something right.

Most of his cashes and winnings result from regular tournaments, however. That’s why his critics have been mainly focusing on his results in high rollers and cash games.
Phil however, is certain that he is not only a decent cash game player but also one of the most successful ones with more than $11 million in cash game winnings.
He even accepted a prop bet against Daniel Negreanu in which he got to generate profit over a series of 50 $25,000 high roller events at the Aria in Las Vegas.
If he fails to be profitable in these events, he will have to pay Negreanu $250,000.
Doug Polk created a highly entertaining podcast with two of the world’s most prolific and entertaining poker players which is definitely worth watching.
