Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu have been arguing over the Poker Brat’s status as the best No-Limit Texas Holdem player of all-time on Poker After Dark. Allen Kessler posted a tweeted showing the exchange where Hellmuth says he is better than the G.O.A.T Phil Ivey.

When Phil Hellmuth appears to ask a rhetorical question about what Ivey himself would say, Daniel Negreanu replies that he is an old-time hustler and would never feed his ego by claiming to be the best himself.
The Canadian even goes one further and tells Phil Hellmuth that he isn’t better at anything than Phil Ivey except self-promotion. Ouch! He added:
“Phil Ivey would mash you in every other format! And there are even other examples.”
The Poll Shows a very Different Result
It isn’t likely going to be a surprise to many in the poker world to hear that Allen Kessler’s poll showed that the vast majority think that Phil Ivey is the better NL Texas hold’em player.

However, there were a surprising number of tweets put out in support of Phil Hellmuth, seemingly all going by his position as the WSOP bracelet record holder.
If i were to stake either @phil_hellmuth or @philivey to a NL game tourney or cash. I would always go for Hellmuth. They both have strengths and weaknesses but Hellmuths passion, respect for the money, consistency, and WHITE MAGIC alone is enough for me to bet Hellmuth!

@phil_hellmuth is the greatest no limit hold ‘em tournament player of all time. Cash games I’d give the nod to Ivey though. So, they’re close, maybe?
