Tom Dwan has been called out yet again for owing money, this time high stakes player Peter Jetten claiming that Dwan has owed him $226,000 for four years now but refuses to pay.
“Would caution against doing business with Tom Dwan”
Peter Jetten took to Twitter to warn the poker community about Dwan’s unwillingness to pay his debts.
“Would caution against doing business with Tom Dwan. He’s owed me 226k for 4 years and continues to use delay tactics to avoid payment. He says he’ll pay next week, next triton poker stop, etc. but never does.”
wrote Jetten.
This week’s revelations by Jetten soon had poker Twitter commenting on Dwan and it didn’t make for pretty viewing. Cole South, a regular opponent of Dwan’s back in the halcyon days of the noughties, summed up the general feeling:
“So tilting seeing someone gambling like crazy when they owe you money. Sorry to hear it. imo you *increase* your chances of getting paid by posting.”
Jesse May, Late Night Poker commentator, also weighed in against Dwan:
Way back when, Peter and Cole would have been two of the most respected gamblers that vouched for Dwan. In the world of high stakes character and credibility, Durrrr is at rock bottom. https://t.co/AG456QYc9u

It’s not clear why or when Jetten loaned Dwan the $226k, but most likely it was at Triton Poker stop in 2019, a year when Jetten bagged two 7-figure scores at the highstakes tournament series, as well as several other huge cashes.
Tom Dwan, though a poker legend for his fearless play at the highest stakes for two decades, now has a reputation akin to that of a scammer – dating back to his “Durrrr Challenge” match against Jungleman Dan Cates.
Jungleman, like Jetten, has found it nigh on impossible to recover the $1million+ Tom Dwan owes him, and every year or two reminds the poker community of Dwan’s low-life alter ego.
Well seeing something about @TomDwan bragging about how he ‘cleverly’ and ‘fairly’ tricked me is a bit annoying considering how he begged me to play props back then and our current misunderstandings involving me being owed over a million dollars.

Dwan has yet to respond to Jetten’s claims. Most in the poker community won’t be holding their breath for an answer or an offer to pay what he owes.
