Patrick Leonard Bets in Favour of Charlie Carrel’s Music Charts Success
Some readers will remember Charlie Carrel’s cringe release before Christmas last year. His performance of hallelujah had poker fans crying with laughter, and also considering whether or not it was just a troll.
Well, although that video has now been removed from public view we have to think that maybe Patrick Leonard knows of something coming through the pipeline in the near future.
Is this a Serious Prop Bet?
Judging by the replies in the Twitter thread, it’s tough to know if this is a serious bet or not. Of course, a wealthy guy like Leonard could easily throw away $2,000 without a second thought on the off chance that he wins a million dollar later on.
Vanessa Kade actually wrote that she thinks Charlie Carrel has a great voice. The Canadian tournament star isn’t the type of person to be trolling in public, so can we assume that there are, in fact, a number of fans of Carrel singing voice out there?
Twitch streamer Kevin Martin thinks that if Carrel puts his mind to this he can do it. Landon Tice says that crazy bets like this is how he gets invited back into lucrative private games!
How Likely Is Charlie Carrel to Make a Top 10 Hit?
Interestingly, a professional recording studio engineer joined the conversation and informed Leonard that, although he cannot sing, he was credited as a background singer in one of Donna Summer’s disco hits.
He says this bet could be won quickly and without skill pure by seeking out collaboration credit.
Not everyone is as confident, though. One poster likened this challenge to the first round of American Idol—the time when the show is geared towards laughing at those without any talent but who are unaware of that fact.
“On what music chart? Don’t know the guy, but it feels like he’s the kind of first round American Idol tryout that: – gets rejected, – says the judges made a huge mistake they’ll regret, and, – is never heard from again.”
A professional gambling analyst reckons that entry into Top 40 is definitely achievable for all of the above reasons, but a top 10 spot is extremely difficult.

The funny thing is about all of this, is that Charlie Carrel is not even involved. And if Patrick Leonard is now starting to think he’s made a mistake, he can always remember the fact that Illari “Ziigmund” Sahamies actually did this in Finland years ago!
