Oleg Ostroumov has now revealed the exciting story how he created the world’s first GTO poker solver at the Age of only 23 selling it to Truteller and Kanu7 among other high stakes legends.
The story of the first NLHE solver (afaik) by the guy who made it and sold me access, before public solvers were available. Quite cool to read it from his perspective, I didn’t realise the financial situation he was in during negotiations! https://t.co/c8DlpADVjx

Oleg Ostroumov created the frist GTO solver as early as 2013
GTO poker solvers are an essential part of the game these days. In fact, it is unthinkable for any player with ambition not to be regularly studying solver outputs.
So, all the way back in 2013, Ostroumov had a vision of just how transformational this software would be, and he settled down to work.
The math major was already a skilled poker player having climbed from $2 cash games up to $1,000 buy-in tables in only 18 months.
Upon the development of a working model, the young Russian sat down with top players and researchers and discovered that there was no evidence of prior instances of such a tool being used by anybody in the game.
And so he set out to find a buyer, although worried somewhat that his lack of experience in sales might hinder his ability to find the best deals.
True story 🙂 The program has later offered many novel lines, and confirmed quite a few of mine, which helped both with strat building and confidence.

Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov and Alex “Kanu7” Millar First Buyers
One point that Ostroumov did realise was that the world’s best players are unable to utilise coaching as they are already better than everyone else and don’t want to help their rivals by teaming up.
Legendary crushers Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov and Alex “Kanu7” Millar were the first players to show interest.
Trueteller had exclusive access for a while, but he was dragging his feet over the $100,000 price tag. This motivated Ostroumov to get out and find more prospective buyers.
Kanu7 was the next player to be approached and the Russian was keen to strike a deal as he only had about $6,000 left to his name.
Luckily, in April 2013, a deal was signed for six players to have exclusive access to the program with Kanu7 and some friends putting up $200,000.
Later in the year, Oleg Ostroumov created another solver, this time for PLO. That sold for $300,000, giving the 23-year-old a nice little nest egg to sit on while he pondered his next move.
