Norman Chad Wants 10-Year WSOP Ban for Poker Cheaters
What @PhilGalfond said on @PokerGO regarding Ali Imsirovic/Jake Schindler cheating allegations:
My understanding is that the evidence that Jake and Ali cheated is overwhelming, and my stance is that the type of cheating they engaged in is no different than theft.

The reaction to the high number of cheating accusations and bans from major online poker platforms has led to calls for a poker blacklist that excludes such players from entering events in prestigious live festivals.
The World Series of Poker organisers have remained silent on the matter while others are now starting to take action. With the likes of Phil Galfond speaking out, surely it’s only a matter of time before cheaters find themselves unwelcome everywhere.
They’ve stolen millions of dollars from their peers and from recreational players.
I think it’s important to point out to the casual fan that while public accusations of cheating are, unfortunately, all too common, the majority are unproven, many are untrue…

Ali Imsirovic and Jake Schindler are two of the most hated characters in the game right now. Both are accused of using real-time assistance during play and yet they still showed up in Las Vegas without a hint of shame.
This might actually end up being their downfall. Their profile in the game and success during the series has made them even more visible than usual during the summer and now the pressure to take action is building rapidly.
I think they shouldn’t be competing at WSOP, at minimum, for 10 years. I don’t say this lightly. The type of cheating that warrants a ban like that must clear a high threshold, as does the level of certainty that cheating took place.

PokerNews Slammed for Promoting Known Cheaters
Even PokerNews has found itself under fire for promoting known cheaters Ali Imsirovic, Bryn Kenney and Jake Schindler in their 2022 WSOP Main Event coverage.
Twitter posters, including Matt Berkey, were disappointed that the accused appeared in so many tournament write-ups by the media outlet.
Maybe this is unfair, and as mentioned above, the fact that such players can play in major series might end up being the catalyst for their ultimate banning, so it could be a good thing in the end.
I hope it doesn’t go unnoticed that @PokerNews had zero issue shadow banning @PokerBunnyy last year, refusing to cover her in any capacity, but have zero issue doing full write ups & max coverage on a collection of known cheaters who have fleeced the community for 8 or 9 figs🤔
