You can run but you can never truly hide – that’s the way of dubious behaviour in poker, with newly-minted WSOP bracelet winner Brent Hart instantly called out for alleged non-payment of debts.
As we reported yesterday in our WSOP 2024 day 11 report, Hart scooped gold and $660,284 to take his career earnings past the $1.5 million mark.
But amid his celebrations it was claims of a murky past that took centre stage on Twitter.
Another serial scammer Brent Hart, live on the PokerGo stream in the $5k. Be cautious at WSOP my friends. https://t.co/gFMCThOQYr pic.twitter.com/ak124EiWOc

Elvis Toomas had previously outed Nissar “Nick” Quraishi for scamming fellow players and didn’t hold back in his condemnation of newly-crowned WSOP champ Hart.
Betting line at -1200 this fool is dead broke within 2 weeks. Heard he was at the craps table during one of the FT breaks 🤡 https://t.co/PItRtoYoGh

Incredibly, Hart’s debt to Toomas was a paltry $1000, and despite finding time and money to play multiple events from $1k up to $10k buy-ins, he allegedly refused to pay Toomas what he owed.
“Here’s a name you should all be cautious of Brent Hart, he borrowed $1,000 from me … he was deep in the Venetian $2500 and promised to pay me back in full the very next day after he cashed,” wrote Toomas in 2022.
“He went on to finish in 2nd place for over $166k. Rather than settling his debt he left Vegas and went home to California,” adds Toomas, who then relates the usual story of excuses and denials.
Despite eventually getting half of his money back months later he explains: “Word is that this is what Brent does, borrows money and doesn’t feel like he needs to pay it back. Intimidates people into not coming out or confronting him.”
Jungleman Dan Cates offers to Out Debtors
In a strange and very surprising twist, Loomas’ outing of Hart saw Jungleman Dan Cates enter the story, offering to out poker’s bad debtors if he could verify the debt.
If anyone would like to out their debtors that are not compliant I am willing to do so if I can verify the debt and the lack of compliancy or confront them directly.

Same with cheating and other bad behaviours that are not accounted for
I understand my history isn’t perfect…
Jungleman is hardly the most obvious choice for ‘voice of the scammed’ given his own chequered past, something he admits in his tweet:
“I understand my history isn’t perfect and in fact I owe some money. The main theme is forward progression and accountability. No need to shame people for their mistakes as long as they make things right and stop their bad behaviour.”
Most will know Jungleman as someone who claims to still be owed a huge chunk of money by the likes of Tom “Durrrr” Dwan and David “Viffer” Peat.
Jungleman explained why he was getting himself involved: “Few others are doing anything about the active problems in poker so I have decided to for our collective benefit.”
In the meantime, Hart has yet to respond to the accusations levelled against him by Loomas.
