Absolute insane performance by online legend and Finnish superstar Sami “LarsLuzak“ Kelopuro, who won three high stakes tournaments in one single night at GGPoker!
Sami Kelopuro wins three Sunday Majors in one night!
Sami Kelopuro has been crushing online poker for almost 15 years now.
Who doesn’t remember the Golden Age of online high stakes at Full Tilt Poker, where he battled heads-up under the nickname “LarsLuzak” at NL and PLO$500/$1,000 with poker legends such as Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan or Viktor “Isildur1” Blom?
In 2007 Kelopuro already won millions by playing online cash games banking $1.5 million on Full tilt Poker alone.
Nowadays, Sami Kelopuro made the transition and specialises in high stakes tournaments. Last night he proved once again that he is among the best online tournament players in the world by, believe it or not, four Sunday Majors in one single night!
Kelopuro kicked things off with a victory in the $3,150 High Rollers Blade Bounty King PLO for $44,802, where he relegated poker crushers Isaac Haxton and Adam Hendrix into 2nd and 3rd place:
Sami then jumped into the next Pot-Limit Omaha tournament by regging the $2,520 High Rollers Blade together with 32 PLO specialists.
Again he not only made the final table, but also left everybody there behind him including online legends Andras “probirs” Nemeth, Yuri “theNERDguy” Dzivielevski and Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane.
Sami Kelopuro collected $27,048 for his second win of the night.
After that he swapped to No-Limit Hold’em as Sami Kelopuro is one of the few, who can play Hold’em and PLO equally well.
30 of the world’s best tournament players paid the whopping $5,250 buy-in of the High Rollers Sunday Blade Closer and created a $150,000 prize pool.
4 places were paid with a staggering min-cash of $23,187 and $54,866.03 up top.
German high stakes reg Marius Gierse became bubble boy, while the remaining four players Nick Petrangelo, Laurynas Levinskas, David Peters and Sami Kelopuro all had secured themselves a minimum of $23k.
The latter two then battled it out for the victory in a clash of the titans, where Sami Kelopuro once again showed why many regard him as being one of the best heads-up players in the world by securing his third high roller title of the Sunday Grind night.
In total Same Kelopuro cashed for a whopping $126.716 in those three tournaments alone. What an incredible performance by the Finnish superstar.
Robert Davison defeats Ami Barer at the partypoker Big Game
The $2,600 High Roller Big Game at partypoker is one of the classics of the Sunday Grind. 118 elite players signed up to compete for the prestigious title creating a $300,000 prize pool.
High stakes crushers Artur Martirosian, Christian „WATnlos“ Rudolph, Koray Aldemir and Matthias Eibinger all busted just shy of the final table.
Nevertheless, there were several big names who made it to the final such as Christoph Vogelsang, Daan Mulders, Marius Gierse or Australian poker star Ami Barer.
The latter even made it into heads-up play, where he was surprisingly defeated by the relatively unknown British player Robert Davison, who took home the staggering $73,494.33 first prize, while Barer still banked $47,291 for his Runner-Up finish.
