Marius Gierse takes down $5,250 Super MILLION$ Week Saturday Super Stack
Marius Gierse starts the New Year online like last year – Crushing! Gierse topped a very tough field in Super MILLION$ Week Event #33: Saturday Super Stack for $45,410.61.
Due to the large $5,250 buy-in only 21 of the best online poker tournament players in the world registered for this event, which was just enough to cover the $100,000 guarantee.
Just three places were paid and we saw an absolute elite final table including online superstars Niklas “Lena900” Astedt, the biggest online tournament winner of 2022 Artur Martirosian and poker legend Isaac Haxton, but all of them busted before the money.
Last player to leave the tournament empty-handed was David Miscikowski, while the three money spots were all taken by big names, namely David Peters, Mikita Badziakouski and Marius Gierse.
The latter two ended up being heads-up for the title and Gierse defeated the legend himself “fish2013” to secure the $43K first prize.
“FutureofMe” Wins New Year Series 118-H, Graftekkel in 4th place
But the Super Million$ Week isn’t the only big online tournament series at the moment, as the New Year Series with a whopping $40,000,000 in total guarantees is running over at PokerStars.
One of the highlights last week was New Year Series 118-H: $1,050 NHLE 7-max PKO. 173 top online players signed up, but it wasn’t enough to reach the guarantee and there was a small overlay.
28 places were paid and notables, who made the money included Chris “Moorman1″ Moorman, Two-Time EPT Online Champion WhatifGod and Ronan”Sw33ney” Sweeney.
In addition to that several big names such as the two online legends “C.Darwin2” and Graftekkel made the final table.
The Swede busted in 7th place, while Jans “Graftekkel” Arends was sent to the rails in 4th place for $7,987.81.
The Heads-Up was an Irish-Bulgarian Duel between “FutureofMe” and “milanov888”. The former emerged victorious and took home an incredible $41,027 in bounties on top of the $13,523.21 first place prize.
