Poker player Jon Jonsson accidentally killed
There has been a dramatic twist in the case of missing poker player Jon Jonsson as police announced that he was accidentally killed over money lost in an illegal poker game.
Icelandic poker player Jon Jonsson went missing during the Dublin Poker Festival last year.
Jonsson left the Bonnington Hotel on Saturday, February 9th and then disappeared without any trace.
This week the police in Iceland has been informed that Jon Jonsson was killed “by accident” by a fellow countryman after losing money to him in an illegal poker game.
A mere €4,000 have cost Jon Jonsson his life
Even more shocking are details that a mere €4,000 ($4,700) cost Jonsson his life as this is the amount he lost in the illegal game to an Icelandic criminal.
The money is said to be buy-in for several other poker players for the 2019 Dublin Poker Festival.
After meeting the money man Jon Jonsson was never seen again
It also has been reported that Jon was prevented from leaving the game after he lost money and was even given a few slaps!
The next morning, Jonsson went to meet the man who had given him the money and after that was never seen again.
This is the last time Jon Jonsson was seen alive:
Apparently, he was killed “by accident” during the meeting by the money man, who was furious that Jonsson had lost the buy-ins.
Jon Jonsson’s has already been informed and the Irish police continues to actively investigate this tragic case.
