Mike Postle Drops $330,000,000 Defamation Case – Now Owns Legal Fees!

Mike Postle in the Hole for Big Bucks

Accused poker cheater Mike Postle has dropped his $330,000,000 defamation case against a long roster of big names in the poker community. Now it looks as if he will be held accountable for a stack of legal fees.

Poker Twitter is currently debating if Mike Postle knows what he is doing by dropping the defamation lawsuit. Marc J Randazza, an attorney, explains that he will automatically lose the Anti-SLAPP motion by doing so.

Veronica Brill and Todd Witteles both filed Anti-SLAPP motions upon hearing they were being sued. The pair were on a long list of names that included Daniel Negreanu, Doug Polk, Phil Galfond, Joey Ingram, Upswing Poker, and many more.

Brill tweeted that she now expects Mike Postle to be paying all her legal fees, and assumedly those of others.

It’s been a rough ride so far this year for the man accused of cheating his fellow players. In January of this year, he was dropped by his own legal team for unknown reasons, and now it looks like he’s trying to wriggle away, hoping to an end to this sorry affair.

Protection from Intimidation – Is Mike Postle a Bully?

The Anti-SLAPP laws are designed to protect citizens who are exercising their right of free speech, and to stop those with lots of money filing frivolous lawsuits with the intent of intimidation.

In Mike Postle’s case, he wasn’t afraid to go ahead and seek nine-figure damages. Now, he’s probably wishing he’d quit while he was ahead.

Of course, poker Twitter has already picked up on that possibility and the trolls have started rolling in.

“That’s like folding when you think you’re UTG and the dealer kindly reminds you that you are the BB and need to post it”

For now, Mike Postle is still innocent in the eyes of the law. He is almost certain never to be convicted of cheating due to the difficulty of proving anything long after the fact.

Mike Postle the Movie

We wonder what will happen to the mooted Mike Postle movie. Last year there was talk about Netflix producing a title on the case. Veronica Brill claims to have been contacted by such a character and wasn’t impressed by what they said, seeming to think they’re connected to Postle or the card room.

She thinks that there is something shady going on behind the scenes and not everything is what it first seems.

“This is literally the craziest shit I’ve ever been involved with”

“This is literally the craziest shit I’ve ever been involved with. These people are literally trying anything to have me pay for exposing the cheating. Rather than being sorry that the cheating happened they want to vilify and sue me. Complete psychopathic behavior.”

We await with anticipation to see what Mike Postle’s next move is. Will he start hiding his money to avoid paying any legal fees? And why did his legal team drop him like a hot brick?
