The Mike Postle cheating scandal, also known as Postlegate, in which Mike Postle was accused of using electronic and other help to cheat fellow players out of up to $300,000, has been headline news since October last year.
A $30,000,000 Million civil lawsuit was brought on behalf of dozens of poker players who faced Postle in the livestreamed cash game at Stones Gambling Hall.

The shocking news that the case against Mike Postle has been dismissed was met with incredulity on Twitter.

Postle dismissal boils down to this… Plaintiff’s claims were “not cognizable under California law because California public policy bars judicial intervention in gambling disputes, in part because the asserted damages are inherently speculative” (Kelly v. First Astri Corp.)

Although the live stream would allow for ‘actual losses’ to be counted from specific hands, the ‘possible losses’ of each player are almost impossible to be determined.
Despite this, the case was expected to go to trial, and may yet do so against Stones and Justin Kuraitis.
“They have no idea how to detect cheating”
Veronica Brill has also stated today that the California Gambling Control Commission is unfit for purpose, having apparently done next to nothing to get to the bottom of the alleged cheating.
Also it is obvious how oblivious to the game of poker the group that oversees poker in California gaming is.
