Mike McDonald sees Joe Biden and Doug Polk as massive favourites
Mike Timex McDonald is getting all excited during the build up to election day in the US. The prop bet king of the poker community recently won $200,000 after sinking 90/100 throws in a basketball wager and is now considering aiming at a chess grandmaster title.
Is there nothing he will not bet on?
As the American population gets ready to head to the polls today, Mike McDonald is looking to make things a little more interesting by offering combo bets with the other big competition that starts this week—the Doug Polk vs Daniel Negreanu heads-up match, which starts tomorrow and will be streamed live on VIP-Grinders.com.
(Throwing things up in an hour or two)
Biden + Doug = 1.7 (-143)
Biden + Daniel = 8.0 (+700)
Trump + Doug = 3.3 (+230)
Trump + Daniel = 14 (+1300)— Mike McDonald (@MikeMcDonald89) November 2, 2020
An interesting pair of events. One poster quickly pointed out,
“If Trump wins, DNegs is going to tilt off his first $1 million… so take that into account when betting!”
Negreanu is also going to be eyeing these odds if Trump takes an unexpected victory because Mike McDonald has calculated that the odds of him and Trump both winning is the least likely combo to happen.
Doug Polk couldn’t agree more:
I feel really bad for the people betting on Trump and Negreanu.

What Does the 2020 US Election Mean for Online Poker in the USA?
There is also something else at stake this week other than the future of the USA and the egos of both Doug Polk and Daniel Negreanu—online poker in the US might be a surprising winner.
With Trump now expected to be leaving the Oval Office we might see a softening of the general attitude toward online gambling in the country. Republicans are famously more puritanical than their Democrat rivals and gambling has never gone down well with them in general.
Another piece of good news for the US poker community is the possible exit from the US gambling industry of Sheldon Adelson.
Adelson is famously the bête noire of online poker. He donated millions of dollars to politicians over the years in return for them applying pressure to prevent the industry ever getting off the ground.
He was a big part of promoting the UIGEA 2006, and did his utmost to campaign against the Poker Player’s Alliance when some states fully regulated the game.
The Las Vegas Sands Corp. are reported to be looking to offload their Las Vegas interests for the princely sum of $6 billion. Adelson is no fool and will be on the lookout to sell off businesses with no potential during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Las Vegas is suffering badly, but with the Macau area providing 63% of company revenue, and Asia in general recovering from the lockdowns better, it is obvious why Adelson might want to jump ship.
It’s not in the bag though. The following tweet showed a disturbing trend that might leave some poker players reeling.
🚨 DK Election Pool Alert: With over 350K entries, a majority of people in every state besides Colorado predict that @realdonaldtrump will be the winner of tomorrow’s election. pic.twitter.com/zUF0uZZtwK
