Recently, we have already reported about the infamous free throw prop bet. Mike McDonald has recently tweeted that there are close to $200,000 on the line for him.

While the terms of Mike McDonald’s prop bet have been published, we were still uncertain how much money was on the line. Therefore we have been curious to find out how much he was willing to risk.
Certainly, it takes a lot of courage to try to sink 90 out of 100 free throws. Historically, there have been just four players in the NBA to have these numbers. However, McDonald has more than eight months left to achieve this tough goal.
Joey Ingram already tweeted that he considers this bet to be one of the greatest prop bet hustles of his time on the internet.

Ingram certainly knows what he’s talking about. He has his fair share of incredible prop bets in the past. He’s played 50k hands in 20 hours and set a world record and set another record by playing 450k hands of PLO in a single month.
Even though these records are highly respectable, it seems like the Mike McDonald prop bet is on a different level. While Ingram has been playing poker for a long time, McDonald has to keep up with basketball legends, even though he has never played professional basketball before.

Acquiring professional help from veteran shooters such as JJ Reddick might seem like a decent approach. Considering a possible win of $200,000 it certainly would be in range. However, he did not get a lot of action lately.
A twitter user asked McDonald about the total sum and Mike mentioned that he got less than $10,000 of action this week. Apparently, it seems like people are afraid of betting against him!

Joey Ingram assumes that his current shooting form is not as important as it seems. The bet will last until the end of 2020, therefore there is plenty of time left. Practicing full time with lots of basketball sessions might help the case.
However, keep in mind that is also what NBA players are doing and most of them are not even close to hitting these numbers. Regardless, we are more than excited to find out how much more cash will be on the line by the end of this bet and if Mike can win it.
