Mike Matusow has been more than happy about Phil Hellmuth’s most recent achievement. Therefore, he decided to praise his close friend for making his seventh final table appearance during this year’s WSOP and called him the GOAT.
I hope after @phil_hellmuth 2nd place finish in 50 k plo along with a record breaking 7 final tables in 7/different events that all the haters apologize because all the young players should realize that all the charts in world can’t beat talent! 🐑🐑🐑 @phil_hellmuth is the GOAT!

Phil Hellmuth has just set a world record by making it to 7 final tables in 7 different events of the 2021 WSOP. Even though Hellmuth fell short and did not win another bracelet, it’s obviously a huge achievement.
Daniel Negreanu was another high-profile poker pro who sat at the table when history was made.
Matusow was quick to fire shots against players who are relying on charts to play the game. Referring to Hellmuth who is considered to be an old-school poker pro who Matusow considers to be blessed with talent.
Naturally, it did not take Twitter users too long to respond to “the mouth”:
The most advanced solvers that young guys study and work with are mostly for NL holdem, have you seen any results in Holdem for PH? He decided to skip an event with only 33 players between him and a bracelet in a game he claimed he was the best for so long, coinsidence?

There were plenty of users who disagreed with his take, however, there were also multiple people agreeing with Matusow:
Phill deserves all the respect in the world what he has accomplished over a long period of time. All the haters who say he's simply plays a lot of events it's really hard to play all those events at a high level, the grind is real !

Mike did not respond to any of the comments underneath the initial tweet yet. One of the users also referred to the WSOP Player of the Year 2021 debate which was sparked by Hellmuth recently:
And Phil should 100% be POTY. No doubt in my mind.

Phil Hellmuth didn’t retweet Matusow’s tweet, however, he praised his opponent at his most recent final table appearance:
One more nice guy wins a @WSOP Bracelet! Congrats on winning your 4th WSOP bracelet at age 27, great stuff! #POSITIVITY #AMNiceLife pic.twitter.com/m8MsGJnfU2
