Mike Matusow has tweeted that he and his two partners are relocating to Dallas to take over the PokerHouse of Dallas. The trio follow in the footsteps of Doug Polk who recently bought his own poker room in Austin, Texas.

Mike Matusow and Partners Take Over Dallas Poker Room
Mike Matusow has spent the last week in Dallas doing meet and greet evenings as well as sitting in games so the fans can get the chance to play against the four-time WSOP bracelet winner.
I’ll be doing another meet up game today from 4pm until 7 pm @pokerhousellc , yesterday was so much fun meeting all these wonderful people in Dallas that I can’t wait to see everyone today again! @pokerhousellc #PokerhouseDallas

Starting a New Trend
Although the original tweet has since been deleted, Mike Matusow was clear that he and his two partners were moving to Dallas to take over and run the PokerHouse of Dallas.
This news comes only weeks after Doug Polk teamed up with YouTube poker vloggers Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme to buy his own place in Austin.
Is this the start of an era of poker rooms owned by poker players and run with mainly the customers in mind?
This is a highly positive shift, one that sparks memories of when the Scheinberg family ran PokerStars during the poker boom and did everything they could to satisfy their customers.
To celebrate this move, Mike Matusow announced a freeroll event scheduled for February 8 with $250,000 added value. All players need to do is join the club for a measly $10.
All month of February 8 day 1s of our 250k freerole tourney! Join our club for 10 bucks and you’re entered into 250k tourney freerole! @pokerhousellc #Dallaspokerhouse pic.twitter.com/fvGbBv1p3V

Planned for a Long Time
This move to Dallas comes less than two months after Mike Matusow spoke to Johnny Chan about taking over his bankrupt 88 Social club. He’s clearly been pondering this plan for a while.
That idea came to nought and the club controversially closed its doors for business without allowing players to cash in any chips that they had removed from the premises.
There was also evidence of financial crimes in the background after Chan’s partner was accused of embezzling Covid-19 relief money from the US government which has now disappeared.
Check out the video below from Mike Matusow’s “The Mouth” podcast where he discusses what is planned for the PokerHouse of Dallas in the future.
He even mentions putting Mike “The Mouth” poker houses all over the state of Texas. Exciting times for poker in the area.
