Midway Poker Tour scammer Daniel Bekavac wasn’t impressed this week when he met the poker reporter who outed his ‘silver coins instead of cash’ rip-off, telling Chad Holloway to “fuck off” as they clashed at the tables…
Was disappointed to have known scammer Dan Bekavac, who you may recall has ghosted players regarding Midway Poker Tour shorted payouts, sit down at my table in the MSPT Riverside.
He told me to “fuck off” for which he received a warning.
Won’t lie, this hand felt pretty good! pic.twitter.com/GAfjSprT8l

Midway Poker Tour scammer Daniel Bekavac seen at the tables
Holloway was present when Bekavac short-changed dozens of players who made the money at the inaugural Midway Poker Tour last October. Instead of receiving cash, many were given over-valued silver, as we explained when the incredible story broke.
Poker player Jerome Meyer took to Twitter at the time to reveal some more info about Bekavac, claiming: “He was running that Poker Bros thing and had multiple people that he would say he suspected of cheating and not pay out. Colludes in live tournaments and multiple other issues out there. Look around, and you’ll find many more stories.”
The Midway Poker Tour saw prize winners paid out in silver bars and coins, with delays and a serious shortfall between what the players won and what their precious metals were actually worth.
While the final table discussed what to do about the situation, Daniel Bekavac had fled the venue. He left others to tidy up his mess and face angry staff and players.
Players debating what to do. No one from the Midway Poker Tour nor owner Danny Bekavac on-site. The charity partner is not experienced in poker and have been left to deal with the shit show. pic.twitter.com/G7MSCumZde

Owing thousands of dollars, Bekavac had promised to make things right. However, as Holloway discovered in January, it seemed the scammer’s only desire was to keep playing, not paying…
I get asked often about Midway Poker Tour payout update. Still ~$50K in missing value & many players yet to be made whole. Founder Dan Bekavac said he’d make it right in Oct. then disappeared. Ghosted players.
This weekend he’s decided to play $1,100 Grand Falls Event. No shame. pic.twitter.com/n0b3AnBG4n

As we reported at the time, Daniel Bekavac bust out early from that event and the same was the case this time around, despite firing four bullets of what is basically other players’ money…
I am happy to report Dan Bekavac, infamous for the Midway Poker Tour silver payout controversy, has been eliminated from the MSPT Riverside $1,100 Main Event after firing the maximum four bullets allowed. I only wish I could’ve done the deed. https://t.co/4Fog0DNser

Poker fans questioning the MSPT
The fact that the MSPT, a well-regarded tour, for the most part, has allowed Daniel Bekavac to play despite his apparently serial scamming had Twitter poker fans questioning the tour.
“Once again illustrating how poker rooms have crap integrity with who they let play in them,” wrote one fan. He added a famous case: “Similar to when POS Lederer suddenly showed his face in Vegas and played in the Bellagio & Aria big games. When people complained, management threatened to ban those complaining.”
Naturally, calling out other tours and organizers for not taking the lead in banning scumbags and scammers is a questionable route itself.
Holloway offered an alternative idea: “Perhaps poker needs governing body, like the TDA, that can review, adjudicate, and make recommendations on players based on peer reports, public action, and evidence that rooms and tours can use to act on. Sometimes hard for them to do so when transgressions took place elsewhere.”
As we revealed in the last year alone, there are plenty of scammers, scummy behaviour, and scandals to go round in the poker world. The best you can do as a player is, be aware of who and what is going on in the community.
