The Return of the $200,000 King of the Hill Heads-Up Challenge
After the great debut of King of the Hill in August, Poker Night in America decided to organize a sequel of” the $50,000 buy-in winner-take-all Heads-Up challenge.
The second endition of the event took place from 6th to 7th of October at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and featured the reigning champion Phil Hellmuth, Parker “Tonka” Talbot, Shaun Deeb and Olivier Busquet.
The whole action was streamed live on Twitch and you can watch all the matches as well as the Grand Final below!
Shaun Deeb vs Olivier Busquet
The first match on Saturday was a clash of online poker legends Shaun “shaundeeb” Deep and Olivier “adonis112” Busquet.
Busquet is a Heads-Up Hyper Turbo specialist and therefore was considered a favorite. He won the first match quickly and continued his run good in the second one to sweep Deeb 2 – 0.
Phil Hellmuth vs Tonkaaaap
Much more exciting was the second match-up between reigning champion Phil Hellmuth and Twitch star Parker “Tonkaaaap” Talbot.
While the first match went to Phil with a flip, Tonka faught back in the second one. He got lucky with a flush draw against the trips of Hellmuth and one of the famous Phil Hellmuth Blow-ups and rants followed.
Tonka managed to take the second match down and it needed a deciding game. It was a hard battle and best is if you watch it yourself below to keep it exciting:
After the match both gave each other respect and expressed their feelings via Twitter:
Gg Phil. It’s honestly surreal to even be in the event. Was a pleasure. https://t.co/N6eYj3A3Ze
