The event made history as the largest ever PLO tournament fielded in live poker. The $1,632,000 prize pool ensured that at least a handful of players would win life-changing money.
Although the event buy-in was modest by WSOP standards, many high-profile names were still attracted. Shaun Deeb was still in the mix until busting out in 17th place.
2004 and 2021 WSOP Main Event winners Greg Raymer and Koray Aldemir were also present.
Joseph Altomonte Finds His Form After Ditching Girlfriend Who Stopped Him Playing
Joseph Altomonte almost didn’t have the chance to step back into the world of poker. He told how his previous girlfriend stopped him for playing for more than nine years.
After they split up, Altomonte couldn’t resist the urge to go and play again.
“My ex said being a poker player wasn’t an acceptable occupation, so I quit for a very long time. It’s a dream come true; you don’t even understand.”
As he got back into the poker lifestyle, he found immediate success that includes four cashes in four online WSOPC events. He also picked up a $87,676 score in a $3,200 High Roller tournament.
The live results are also coming in thick and fast. Seven cashes and two wins have come in for a nice $180,760 in earnings.
