Joe Ingram is looking for a host for his new poker podcast on Twitter

Joe Ingram has been laying low lately.

The last upload on his YouTube channel is from November 8th of last year. He was coming off of a hot period at the time. His thorough investigation of the Mike Postle cheating scandal not only served the poker community a great deal, it also boosted his channel. He hit 100,000 subscribers then.

However, not much was heard from him since. He stayed active on Twitter, though.

Thus, it was Twitter where shared an interesting message recently.

Is Joe Ingram Looking For a Co-Host For His Podcast?

Reading that tweet carefully, it seems less likely that “Chicago Joey” would be looking for a co-host for the Poker Life Podcast. Rather, he’s looking to mentor someone completely new in the podcast game.

Although it might be a noble endeavor, it may not be the smartest. Building an audience for a brand new property is a lot harder than building upon the already existing audience of an old one. Perhaps Joe Ingram would be better off handing down the Poker Life Podcast if he himself feels a little burnt out doing it.

Creator burnout is nothing new on YouTube, even the biggest stars on the platform, such as Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg or the Dobre brothers have spoken about it previously. It’s likely the reason Ingram isn’t uploading either and he’s rather looking for new projects.

One of Ingram’s closest friends, Doug Polk hasn’t been uploading poker content recently either. The latest video on his channel was posted on October 29th, 2019.

However, let’s get back to the Joe Ingram tweet.

He later clarified his idea a bit in a follow-up tweet, saying:

He got replies from multiple known figures in the poker world. Allen Kessler, who’s perhaps best known for his “guest appearances” in Daniel Negreanu’s WSOP Europe vlogs, responded. So did Jonathan Little, who makes popular poker strategy content on the internet.

Joe Ingram hasn’t responded to any of them publicly so far. He’s also been very vague about what kind of new content he’s looking for. The most we can know for certain at this point that it has to be poker-related in some way.

Legendary Episodes of the Joe Ingram Podcast

The Poker Life Podcast by Joe Ingram is one of the most popular poker podcasts of all time. It premiered on May 12th, 2014 on Ingram’s YouTube channel.

Since then, over 250 episodes have been streamed. During those hundreds of hours of interviews, many memorable incidents occurred.

In February 2018, Doug Polk went on an explicit rant, attacking one of the most prominent figures in poker, Daniel Negreanu. It’ rare to see two high-profile pros fight like that in public.

Ingram’s also known for his famous investigations. He interviewed WPN CEO Phil Nagy about the bot scandal in his online poker rooms – that investigation started by Ingram resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars being paid back to players.

He also had a heated interview with Mike “the Mouth” Matusow in October 2019, right after Matusow was done questioning Mike Postle on his podcast. The Postle cheating scandal ended up being one of the biggest poker stories of the last decade.

But those of you who worry that Joe Ingram’s search for a new project means his old podcast is over, fear not. He already announced that it’s returning today with guest Alex “Kanupoker” Millar.
