Twitch Legend Jason Somerville aka JCarver Announces His Return to the Felt

Jason Somerville, better known by his Twitch Poker moniker JCarver, has made his return to competitive poker.

The Twitch streamer legend was the original poker streamer back in the day, pretty much single handedly giving birth to the niche.

Jason Somerville walked away from full-time content creation five years ago, only making brief reappearances three years ago.

And after that, there has been no sign of the man who has won almost $4 million from live tournaments.

Back in July 2023, Jason Somerville hinted at the possibility of making a return, but until now we didn’t know if he was serious or not.

One X/Twitter fan asked if he would be willing to do some more Twitch streams, to which Somerville replied, “might be fun”.

So what has he been doing for all of this time away? He gave a short two-minute interview during the 2023 WSOP Main Event without revealing too much.

He did say that he has traded in smoking pot for caffeine. A choice that has helped his mental sharpness return to normal levels.

He also pointed out that he was surprised how good everyone is these days, compared to the boom years when information was extremely limited.

One observation will resonate with most readers: people are still complaining about bad beats as much as they ever did.

His answer was for players to remember that they are lucky to be able to make money this way. Losing money is baked into the job, he said.

Fans of Jason Somerville should keep their eyes peeled for a possible imminent return to Twitch.
