It doesn’t take long in the poker world for an innocent tweet to turn into a multimillion prop bet. This time around it’s Jason Koon who has made a “put up or shut up” offer…
I will bet you $2,000,000 I can do it in a year if you can actually escrow. I assume you will be crickets after this. https://t.co/ziv8JouPUI

Jason Koon coming up with a new exciting prop bet
Koon had rather innocently shared footage of NFL star DeKaylin Zecharius “DK” Metcalf’s pro athletics debut, in which the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver clocked an excellent 10.36 seconds for the 100metres…
Truly unbelievable, the guy is 6’4 230lbs! https://t.co/etjhvLMd1H

When quizzed by poker journalist Remko Rinkema on how fast former college athlete Koon might run the short sprint, Jason’s reply was: “No idea. Maybe 10.9 if I wouldn’t get hurt?
Koon added: “But that’s a big “wouldn’t”, I seem to tweak a hamstring anytime I try to fully open up any more,” but suddenly he was pounced on by Twitter random David Joseph, who rather ignorantly attacked the poker legend.
“Zero chance you could run that. Zero,” said Joseph. “I tell you what I’ll back up the Brinks truck you just let me know the track I need to show up to. Your delusional if you think you could run under 11. LMAO.”
Joseph added: “If you think this is a joke I can escrow up to 5 million tomorrow. I need a good solid lock of a bet. Jesus, the fact you just said 10.9 is hilarious. That would make you faster than everybody in the NFL.”
Koon is ready for the challenge
That last line despite Koon just sharing video of an actual NFL player smashing that time. And that’s where our opening tweet exchange came in, partypoker ambassador Koon telling Joseph to put his money where his mouth is.
Koon is no spring chicken for pulling off a sub-11 second 100 m, but he is clearly a very fit individual, who regularly runs and works out, the pics below old but rather telling.
But he didn’t shy away from arguing his corner, replying: “What? There are probably 400 NFL players that could run under 11 seconds in the 100.”
He added: “The first time I ran sub 11 I was 17 years old. I was asked to guess what the best time I could run with a year’s training, without injury I think I could do it.”
While Joseph started backtracking and changing his tune, Bill Perkins – a man who loves prop bets more than almost anyone in the poker community – joined in the fun.
Im the exact weight I was as a sprinter 177. Last time I was timed in the 100 was my redshirt senior year of college. My pr was low 10.7, ran sub 11 over 100 times would be my guess.

That was good enough for Perkins to offer up a healthy incentive for Koon to get his sprinting shoes on, tweeting out: “I’m giving @JasonKoon 100k freeroll to do this by February 2nd. Electronic timing, he can have as many attempts as he wants up to that date. PS I hope he wins!!”
Koon responded by saying, “Will give it all to a charity that we both like.”
Meanwhile, the loud-mouthed Joseph who claimed Koon couldn’t do it found himself on the wrong end of a Doug Polk Twitter slap or two…
When you made this tweet, why would you care if its unlimited attempts?
"That would make you faster than everyone in the NFL"
"Oh sorry you cant try as often as you want"
Your position doesnt make sense. If its not possible why care about attempts?https://t.co/LMUsRO4ghE

Whether Koon can indeed turn back the clock by a decade and a half and break the 11-second barrier is a big ask, but stranger things have happened. Speaking of which, you can find the best of last year’s poker player prop bets right here.
