High Stakes Poker is back! The new season features Daniel Negreanu, Eric Persson, Alan Keating, Antonio Esfandiari,  Jennifer Tilly, Matt Hanks and JRB. Line-up of High Stakes Poker Season 10 Episode 3:

We are continuing with the same line-up as in High Stakes Poker Season 10 Episode 2, which is as follows:

  • Eric Persson
  • Jennifer Tilly
  • Matt Hanks
  • Jean-Robert Bellande
  • Bobby Baldwin
  • Ema Zajmovic
  • Chino Rheem

Eric Persson flops Quads!: $162,200 Pot

There is a straddle to $800 and a restraddle to $1,600. Eric Persson calls with 6♠6♦ as do Jennifer Tilly with K♣10♣ and Ema Zajmovic with A♦5♥. Matt Hanks picks up A♣J♠ in the straddle and raises to $6,600. Persson and Tilly call and Zajmovic folds. Pot Size: $22,200

3-way to a flop of 6♥7♣6♣. Eric Persson flops Quads! Jennifer leads for $10,000 with her flush draw, Hanks calls and Eric makes it $35,000 to go. Only Tilly calls. Pot Size: $102,200

The 4♥ on the turn brings in the Open-Ender, but in this case doesn’t change much. Now Eric leads for $60,000, which in my opinion is a mistake, since it makes Jennifer Tilly fold her hand.

With the Nuts you want to slow play and give your opponents rope to make their hand and to hang themselves, so a check would have been the right play here.

Although Eric Persson might have misplayed this hand he still wins the biggest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 10 Episode 3 worth $162,200.

Trips over Trips: $153,000 Pot

9♥5♠8♣10♦

Chino Rheem straddles to $800 and Eric Persson calls with 10♠9♦ from UTG+1. Matt Hanks raises to $3,000 with 10♣5♣ and Eric is the lone caller. Pot Size: $7,400

They go heads-up to a flop of 2♣8♥J♥. Eric picks up an Open-Ended Straight Draw, while Hanks whiffs. Matt makes a $4,000 continuation bet and Eric snap-calls. Pot Size: $15,400

The 10♦ on the turn is a very interesting card as it gives both players middle pair, but Eric Persson’s kicker is still in play. Hanks checks, Persson bets $6,000 and Matt check-calls. Pot Size: $27,400

On the 10♥ river the case Ten comes in making both players Trips with Persson having the better kicker. Hanks checks over to Eric again, who makes a $16,200 value bet, which is quickly called by Matt just to see that the 9-kicker plays.

This hand is both a big cooler as well as an example while hands such as 10-5 are problem hands, because even if you make your hand, you still might have a kicker problem. Eric Persson wins a nice $59,800 pot.
