JRB was the centre of attention in High Stakes Poker Season 10 Episode 10 by getting dealt Pocket Aces twice. However, he gave a masterclass in overplaying Aces, when he made Jennifer Tilly fold her Ace-King preflop due to 5-betting pre instead of slow playing his hand.

JRB demonstrates how to not play Pocket Aces
Jennifer Tilly straddles to $800. Daniel Negreanu raises UTG to $2,000 with Q♠10♠ and JRB makes it $7,000 to go from Middle Position with A♥A♦.
Jen picks up A♠K♦ in the straddle and 4-bets to $30,000. An absolute dream for JRB and a textbook scenario for a slowplay with Pocket Aces. Note that you should always call here as 5-betting gives away your hand.
However, Bellande doesn’t seem to be aware of this and raises to $85,000. The problem of this play is that you narrow down your range to only Aces and eventually Kings leading to Jennifer correctly folding her Ace-King realising that JRB got her crushed.
A clear misstep by Bellande, which potentially cost him $156,000 as he could have gotten all of Tilly’s chips in this cooler scenario.
JRB wins the biggest pot of Episode 1o
However, JRB got a second chance and this time he did better. Bellande raises from early position with A♠A♣ to $2,000 and Stanley Tang 3-bets to $7,000 right behind him with J♦J♣.
Jean-Robert makes it $27,000 to go and Tang, who only has $85,000 behind, goes All-in. JRB snap-calls and they are running it twice.
- First Runout: JRB couldn’t have asked for a better runout with 9♥A♦J♥6♦5♥ since it leaves Tang with only one out.
- Second Runout: The board of 2♦4♠5♣8♣5♠ doesn’t bring one of them and JRB scoops the biggest pot of High Stakes Poker Season 10 Episode 10 worth $185,000.
