The high stakes poker community was shocked this week by news that Hustler Casino Live regular Ryusuke has disappeared from his usual haunts, allegedly owing $15,000,000 that includes a chunk belonging to Nik Airball.

Ryusuke Daifuku, whose full name appears to be a bit of a mystery (his surname ‘Daifuku’ can be taken with a large pinch of salt given its phonetic meaning) appeared on the LA poker scene last summer.
He played in multiple Hustler Casino Live highstakes cash games and won a recorded $684,000 over the course of 3 months.
However, those numbers were apparently only the golden tip of a rather bleak iceberg, Ryusuke losing similar sums and more of borrowed money in non-livestreamed and after-stream games.
Airball said, when asked why Ryusuke was no longer around:
“He’s a scammer, who owes about $½million to me and several other people locally. He’s gone silent, he owes money in Japan, hasn’t responded in months and is gone.”
The HCL reg, currently playing Matt Berkey in a highstakes Grudge Match added: “Like, verified, he’s a scammer, he owes me $160,000 personally. It’s unfortunate…such a nice guy I thought.”
Polk’s video, however, names a completely different person as being the Ryusuke in question, which drew the ire of many, including Japanese player and streamer Sashimi, who caused a huge fake breast scandal.
No, He posted different person

Doug Polk released a follow-up video showing Ryusuke in action in the infamous Garrett Adelstein – Robbi Jade Lew J4o hand.

With additional allegations that Ryusuke ran up Baccarat debts at the Hustler Casino, poker Twitter was quick to share their info, thoughts, and warnings:
- I’ve played with Ryusuke in several private games in Las Vegas around wsop last year. Can verify his invite only status at Wynn and MGM (baccarat degen). Seemed like a great guy though
- Appreciate the video. But it is common sense to NOT lend someone without some sort of written confirmation. Hard to imagine Ryusuke not paying.
- People let scammers free roll them constantly bc they are uncomfortable with saying the uncomfortable thing “I’m not positive you can or will pay me back, there’s nothing in this for me”.
In breaking news as we go to press, Ryusuke has replied to Polk on Twitter, claiming he “will be back very soon” and is trying to fix things…
I’m not in Florida. I’m taking break from everything to get affairs in order. I already talk to those who I need to.
