What is High Stakes Duel?
High Stakes Duel is a new and very exciting poker TV Show. In the unique Heads-Up format, the best poker players in the world compete for a massive prize pool of $12,800,000, as the stakes are doubled after in any of the eight rounds.
While in the first round the buy-in of each player was only $50,000 for each player, High Stakes Duel Round 2 already had a $100,000 buy-in.

In addition to that, the loser of the previous round always gets the chance to ask for a rematch and this is what happened here.
After the final hand of Round 1 (see below) Phil Hellmuth asked Antonio: “And now you are challenging me?” and Esfandiari replied straight away: “Yes, it’s official”.
